Recent opinion can be found at this link (http://ingamechat.net/audio/IGC20090324.mp3).
Rest assured, despite this episode’s title, our conversation is very much about the here and now - except where it isn’t, in which case it’s just show and tell. It’s hard not to find yourself rooted to the moment during the week of GDC, browser-refreshing your way through the day looking for headlines from the people who make the news, and forum commentary from the people who analyze it.
But it’s just as hard not to live a little bit in the future, as well - the future that’s far more than suggested by developers, but is often nearly insisted upon. They tell us wonderful stories about both harsh and ideal circumstances, and we’re ready to believe nearly anything they want us to about how we’ll be experiencing the games of tomorrow. There are simple untruths, like anywhere, but the delivery is so earnest and optimistic you’ll forgive us for being somewhat transported.

this was my first episode that i listened to and i dont quite understand why you just start it in the middle of a conversation. theres some high pitched noise that i can hear through the whole thing, almost like its turned up too high, it suckes and hurts my ears. I may listen to the next one but i didnt like what i heard. sorry.

Thanks for listening, even if it might be the only one you listen to. That's the first I've heard of there being a high pitched noise during the whole show. We'll look into that and if you go back and listen to any other episodes, let us know if it's in those too.
As for our format/style, it may not be for everyone. Every other show out there has structure. At 10 minutes into the show you hear this. At 30 minutes in you hear this, and so on and so forth.
We don't do that. We don't want to do that. Reason being is that we just don't work well like that. And again, that may not be for everyone. If you do listen again, be it with the next episode or any of our previous episodes we hope you like what you hear and stick with us, but if not, well...we still appreciate you giving us a try at the very least and even more so that you gave us your opinion on what we do.

I didn't notice any whine (other than James! :) )
Speaking of which, I just listened to the podcast and I'm not sure if you guys have gotten around to playing The Pitt, but either Jeremy or James was commenting on it possibly having a bit more moral ambiguity to it.
I played through The Pitt the other day and boy... if you want to talk shades of grey...
I went into it expecting that I'd be doing one thing and by the end of the quest line, I'd ended up doing something completely different and I'm still not sure if I'm happy with my decision. On one hand, it's a decision that I think was ultimately the right one in the long haul and from a particular moral standpoint, but man... I keep thinking back on how everything played out and wish that I'd gone another route with it because it was also the right thing to do, but on a much shorter term basis.
Grr... Now I'm getting annoyed just thinking about the fact that I should have played it out the other way.
But that, my friends, is a great way to screw around with your traditional sense of morality. Either way I went, it was ultimately a good outcome, but neither set of actions left a good taste in my mouth.
Speaking of Fallout DLC, I played through Operation Anchorage a few weeks ago and sure, it wasn't a lore/conversation heavy quest but I had fun with it. I don't see why people are getting their knickers in a twist about the fact that it's primarily combat based after some of the other combat-heavy quests I've gone on in the main game. It's pretty, it's fun, it fleshes out a bunch of backstory for the Fallout world and the swag you get when all is said and done is quite dandy.
