I had an extra 120gb HD and gave it to a friend. Everytime he puts it on his 360 he gets the 3 red rings of death but when taking the HD off his 360 works fine. Is this some kind of DRM thing becuase I use to use it on my 360?

Try removing and re-attaching the hard drive while the machine is running. (Obviously, not while it is loading or saving anything)

It's not a DRM thing. It could also very well be that the drive got damaged somehow or it's not seated right. Can you test the drive again on your 360?

If it's not old, it might still be in warranty!

maybe you something happen to it. just go get it looked at if its in warranty.

Wondering what's on the drive now...

Did he go through the transfer process to get his data over to it? Did you use it on another system previously? Or is it just as it was, out of the box?
