Several titles hit Steam yesterday and today. Anyone try out any of the new games and want to share some opinions?
The Path looks pretty interesting - according to the description it is a short horror game modeled on the original tale of Little Red Riding Hood.

I saw a write-up about The Path on Joystiq and while the premise is intriguing I'm not sure if it's worth playing.

Fuck I am so buying that. Just got done watching the trailer and wow that looks fun. I am setting aside $9 from my next paycheck for that. Thanks dude.

The path is in the steam indie game sale thingy now too... while the graveyard done by the same guys did not interest me at all the path is something i may pick up next week if the sale is still on (or if it ever hits a better discount) talking of the sale most of the glut of new games are indie titles so the rush of new ones just in time for the indie sale makes much more sense now than it did.
Anyway, more on mags topic, i picked up zeno clash and i'll be sure to let you guys know what i think of it once it comes out... should be out tomorrow, today for me now but it's likely on US time and we don't know if it's coming out at midnight or not

No problem! Be sure to let me know how it is. :)
Xydarc - It looks interesting, and it's only $9. I'll probably pick it up.
Edit, for Hotcod - Yeah, I noticed that all of the new titles are indie releases. There is a whole page on Steam where you can check them all out.
I also noticed that Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble is only $7 right now, so I will probably pick that up. Aquaria is $14, which is a great deal, although I already own it. Defcon is $7, so I'll probably pick that up too.

I broke down and brought duke3d from GoG just before the indie sale started and while i don't mind having done it i think i'd rather have spent the money on some like dangerous high school girls. Ah well i may pick up one or two of them next week if i don't get to strapped for cash.
The page doesn't show everything, it's easier just to click the indie games link under browse games which will.

Good point. The Indy Games link would be a much better way to browse through them.
I've heard great things about Dangerous High School Girls, so I'm looking forward to trying it.
Also, in my last post I said Darwinia, but I meant to say Defcon. I already own Darwinia.

i'm tempted by dangerous high school girls, defcon, the darwinia/uplink pack, harvest: massive encounter, starscape and the wonderful end of the world. Like i said i could only pick up one or two of those next week and i'm sure i'll add a few more to that list when people get talking about the other games i know nothing about.

Picked up Uplink/Darwinia, and Mayhem Intergalactic.
I can't recommend The Wonderful End of the World enough.

The Path seems pretty divisive, so it may be worth checking out the Rock Paper Shotgun impressions (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/03/11/what-cruel-teeth-youve-got-the-path-impressions/). I wish I could play it.

The Wonderful End of the World could be a wonderful (pun intended) game, but it is really buggy on my machine. One of the levels is completely unplayable.

I picked up DHSCIT... can't really afford it honestly but i wanted something to play. It's a tad odd really, it's not doing a good job of explaining it self but it look good seems unquie and i can't wait to get more in to it

Since it only says it on the news page, I thought I'd point out that the indie game sale runs through to sundy the 29th.
Which means means I should receive my stimulus $$ before it ends :D

Wow, I can't believe I skipped uplink until now. This game is fun.

Is it? I thought about picking that one up as well. Then I'll have all of Introversion's games.

It's actually quite action packed, for a game that's essentually a hacking UI. Really really entertaining.

This does not help me save money for my anniversary trip. Not one bit. Still, good thread MaggieMoo. (I've got icecream on teh brainz)

I'll have to check it out then, sounds like fun. I'm not that great at fast-paced games, so hopefully it doesn't make me want to pull my hair out.

The path is great... but it's not fun.
It's artistic and visual, deep, it's great stuff. But if your looking for fun or a challenge or crazy gameplay concepts... it's not the game.
I bought it, I am glad of that... but there are much more fun games to spend the money on.
