Whoever did the pricing on this is a fucking moron.

Seriously...800 MS Points per game. I mean, four of them are out now with 3 more on the way. That's $70 goddamn dollars!! 5600 MS Points!!!

I can buy the Wii version for like $30 or the PS2 version for $20. But if I want it on the 360 and digital distribution at that, it's a premium.

Fuck. That. Noise.

Hasbro's pricing will bite them on the ass when they see their sales for this week.

I would have considered paying $10 for all four, but anything higher for each is an instant rejection. Especially for Connect Four, I mean come ON.

Hopefully. Of course, that's what we thought would happen with Oblivion's infamous (at least amongst "core" gamers) Horse Armor, but as Bethesda recently revealed, sales have been strong all along.

Edit: 800 Points for Connect Four is definitely way too high, but I could see paying $10 for Scrabble.

I'd have gone 1600 for the current bundle and 1200 for the next bundle...it's still a bit much, but I'd probably bite.

I'd pay 800 for Scrabble, that's about it.

How many points do I get for WALLETRAPE?

Hi, I'm a consumer. I have 800 points. Should I get Mega Man 9, Bionic Commando, or Connect Four? Decisions!

Heh yeah I saw the pricing on these and laughed. No way in hell would I $10 for any of these games. Fuck I can get the real board games cheaper than that.

HA HA HA

There is no singleplayer experience in Scrabble. Even better, Scrabble doesn't use the chatpad.

The problem here is that the presentation is great and the games are really well done so I have a sinking suspicion that these games are going to sell like crazy which is really unfortunate. The fact that Scrabble doesn't have a single player mode makes it worthless to me.

does ea own the rights to these games ??

I don't see how the chatpad would really streamline the experience that much, since you are just using the letters that you have in your rack.

Would someone really want to play Scrabble single player?

Sure, against AI. Why not polish your "skills" before going online.

Why would you want to play with yourself in Scrabble? I wouldn't want to play against a computer, because it inheirently knows all the dictionary words. :P Unless this somehow refers to no offline multiplayer (mutliple people on one console) which in case that'd be ultra stupid.

EDIT: Beaten by Restlessavenger by a mere 2 minutes!

I'm not sure how that would work either, since like most card games and the like you want to keep your hand (in this case the tiles in your rack) a secret from the other players.

It's why the idea of handheld connectivity / the Dreamcast VMU held such promise, but the idea of each player having their own screen never caught on.

There are plenty of ways to get around that and for $10 a game I expect them to figure one out.

I bet they'll release a box product compilation for these. I'll wait until then.

They probably won't though. The game was released on other platforms a while ago and since they can charge more through XBLA, I can't see them releasing a retail disk. If they do, nobody's going to buy these versions.

I guess I'll wait until the next XBLA game releases and save some points this week.

According to Major's comments on his site, this will have 9 games. The original 6 from the wii / ps2 plus Scrabble plus 2 more down the road. So it will cost you $90 to get them all.

I held out for as long as I could but I just couldn't turn down online Yahtzee. It's 1:15am and I've been playing for 3 hours and have to force myself to stop.

I know they are overpriced but I'm having so much fun that it's worth the price of admission to me. I'm an online board game junkie.

It's worth it to you, as I'm sure it is to a few people. The thing is, $5 is worth it to WAY more than twice as many people (IMO), which is why the pricing was a foolish move.

I agree, at $10 dollars per game, I only bought one. At $5 dollars a game, I would have bought them all.

It's their loss.

I think this kinda info will hit publishers 2 years too late. It always does.

Just like this Christmas there won't be any games cause they finally realized their ip's won't sell if there's a COD around. Which will cause a huge surge on February/March 2010 causing the same thing:P. If only some commercial dork read some forum boards once in a while.
