The Nolan North Episode

We did a very simple thing for the first of this week’s episodes: we invited voice actor Nolan North along for a chat and allowed him to completely steal our show. You’re most likely familiar with his work as Nathan Drake, The titular Prince of Persia, or more recently as Sgt. Forge in Halo Wars. His credits, however, are extensive, and we won’t choke this space with links or bios that are best left described by the man himself.

We don’t have any of what you usually come ‘round for this episode, as it’s a solid hour of interview. But if, like us, you’ve enjoyed as many things on Nolan’s imdb (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0636046/) page as we have, you’re sure to enjoy yourself nonetheless.

Nolan is an idiot. God, what a horrible guy.
I hope he sees that, and then actually sees the spoiler to see that this was a joke. Then he would need to create an account, comment, and then become part of our community. Then we could brag about how awesome we are.
Great episode as usual, and great insights into the voice-over industry. Now you need to get David Hayter on again and then you could have a voice-over artist fight-off!

Great show. I bet when he mentioned the Halo 3 expansion it was what has become ODST. He seemed to know what he did for Halo Wars because of how recent and back when he would have done voices for ODST it was still just planed as an expansion pack.

I dunno if it was your intent but listening to him talk about Uncharted made me want to play the game more than any of the 10/10 reviews I read (I was already pretty keen to check it out when I eventually get a PS3).

That is the game I am saddest about not having a PS3 for. Metal Gear Solid 4 I couldn't care less about, Killzone 2 is just another FPS, but Uncharted looked like a truly unique and class-act experience I am really sorry I missed out on.

I concur a googolfold. My review is over at that other place, but it was one of my favorite reviews I've ever written.

Uncharted is my favorite game so far this generation. It was shorter than I would have liked, but it's the only game I've really wanted to play through multiple times just to experience it again.

Yeah, I was -> <- this close to picking that up a few weeks ago.

Our local TRU was going under and it was 25% off, but I'd have to get a new TV to play it on. Unless Sony decides to manufacture a VGA cable, I would only be able to play a PS3 on a 4:3 SDTV, which would be an injustice!

It's either PAX or new TV, and I choose PAX this year.

Just finished listening to the ep and I did not realize just how many voices Mr. North does. And he's Deadpool... I mean, how can I NOT love the guy?

I was telling my friends that he is one of the few VO artists that I will follow from game to game and series to series. There are others, like Cam Clarke and Paul Eidig (Eiding?) that I hear pop up from time to time elsewhere.

Nice to hear about the possibility of a TMNT 2 movie coming out. We loved the first CGI version around these parts and the game, while insultingly short, was great.

Is EVERY voice actor this awesome, funny, eloquent and just... nice (and awesome, in case I didn't say it before)? First Hayter, then Zumwalt and now Nolan North. It's like this job makes you a better person.
