It actually comes reasonably quickly if you contact Microsoft. (You might even be able to cheap and just call them and ask.)

I didn't call for mine. Go on Xbox.com. There is a form you can print out. Fax or mail. I mailed it and mine came less than a week later.

Nope. They get passed around here quite a bit. That's why i'm going to offer mine to Mal if he decides he can wait a few days. I still haven't done my transfer yet (i'm lazy). I should have it done by the weekend. Mal, if you still haven't gotten the form...i'll send you mine to borrow.

I just did this the other day, and they've made it super easy to transfer licenses afterward too. The only real pain was just going to all my purchased arcade games and selecting "download again." From what I saw, this doesn't really re-download them, just activates them on the console.

It had all the consoles I've used to buy things on listed, and consolidated on my new one. No entering in anything, no phone calls, just a step-by-step thing. Super damn easy.

I had to do it with a couple of hundred Rock Band songs. :(
