Something is seriously wrong! I started up Knights of Honor, which I just bought this last weekend on Steam. The game started up and everything was upside down. I thought "what the hell?" and quit out of the game. Now my whole desktop is upside down! It's as if my monitor has been completely turned around. I restarted my machine, and it's still like that.
Any idea how I can fix this? I had to boot into OSX to be able to use my machine at all.
So much for playing a game before bed. :(

I think I found the solution via Google. I'm going to boot back into XP and see if it works.

Look for a setting under Display properties called rotate display. If you have an Nvidia card it is in the Nvidia Control panel.

Do you have a roommate? Because the inverted desktop is a pretty classic prank.

This is what I would recommend.

I looked and couldn't find anything. :( I just spent 20 minutes searching everywhere, no dice.
It's really hard to do when every thing is upside down.
This fucking blows. :(

What type of video card?

It's an ATI Radeon HD 2400.
There seem to be few, if any, customization options in the display panel, even under advanced.

I don't have any of that.
In fact, now I don't have a damn thing, because I somehow managed to turn off hardware acceleration entirely, so it boots up to a blank screen.
I was going to call it a night and watch the movie I got from Netflix instead, only to discover that the disk has a huge crack in it.
What a fucking day. :(

Safe mode and uninstall the drivers for the card?

Safe mode and uninstall the drivers for the card?
I'm using a Windows partition on an iMac (yeah yeah, I know), so instead of getting the screen where you would normally enter safe mode, instead I see a screen where I choose if I want to boot into Mac OSX or Windows XP.
I've found some things through Google searches on how to enter safe mode when using boot camp, so I'm going to see if it works. Wish me luck.

Yep go this route Mags. When you are booting up Windows (so right after you pick Windows in bootcamp) hit F8 until you get to a selection screen. Boot into safe mode and use the uninstall feature ATI includes with their drivers. After you get the drivers uninstalled reboot and you should hopefully have a working screen.
I'm just assuming this is a Windows issue as I have absolutely 0 experience with boot camp or Windows on a Mac. If nothing else there is always Hulu and OSX.
Edit: Damn you people being faster than me!

There, fixed that for ya.

It's all fixed!
I had to boot into safe mode by holding down F8, then uninstall the drivers.
I restarted and downloaded new drivers. Restarted again and everything was upside down and backwards - so I was right back where I was before.
This time I downloaded the Catalyst Control Center that total showed in his post, and navigate to the rotation option and turned it off. Now everything is just fine!
I did all of this while everything was backwards and upside down, which was a real test of my patience.
Thanks everyone, and a big fuck you to Windows and Knights of Honor! :p

So was there some kind of shortcut you unknowingly hit that made it go upside down, or was this the game's fault?

Thanks again for your help! I was just a little flustered last night. ;)
Awesome image Spectre, thanks.

It was the game. Everything was fine until I started it up for the first time. The logos started coming up, all upside down, and when I quit out, everything was still upside down, backwards, and in the wrong resolution. I'm afraid to try playing the game now.

Well, now that you have the Catalyst Control Panel, you should be able to fix it easily. Go on, try it out. The only way to prove it is the game's fault is to reproduce the error. :)

You might have to start the game upside down so it flips itself around the correct way :p.

It might not happen again even if it was the game. I'll find out later today though.

Ha! Maybe I will. :p

Why didn't you just flip the screen upside down or in your case right side up? ;)
Glad that worked out for you Mags. I hate when stuff like that happens to a computer. You showed some great patience...

I couldn't flip the screen around even if I wanted to, because it's an iMac.
Patience? Is that what I was showing when I got so mad that I kicked the closet door and threw some mail across the room? :o
