The promised update of RockBand.com seems to have launched. It's got the ability to take pictures of your characters, though the one photo I've tried still hasn't shown up - it says it can take a minute to render the photo, but it seems to be taking far longer than that.

Awesome, I love the look of it so far. Now I'm going to be obsessively refreshing my profile page until I see the pictures appear, though.

Now I really need to finish making my Psychonauts characters just perfect, too....

Sounds pretty cool, even though I haven't played Rock Band in like half a year. Did they ever implement the thing where you can buy a figurine of your character? I'm assuming not.

Anyone know about how much these are gonna cost? If they're cheap enough, I'm going to NEED my Jesus drummer.
A statue would rock, but a shirt with a metal Jesus would be damn near as good.

Oh, cool. I remember reading about it on rockband.com the last time I visited (which was shortly after the first game came out and I requested "Everlong" by Foo Fighters for DLC), and I never heard anything about it again till now.

I guess I'm happy the song got put on Rock Band 2, but I'm probably never going to buy it (at least for a really long time), so I kind of wish it just came out as DLC for the first one.

Anyway, I'd better make sure my characters are wearing the most awesome clothes ever then.

I just checked, and they're $69 and available now (well, except it says they're sold out, so not really). When generating a preview it said that it may take a while due to high volume of requests and they'd email me when it was ready, but then it showed it about 20 seconds later.

Also, it seems to have generated default pictures for almost all my characters and bands (including ones that their damn bug has killed) - if it was doing that for everyone, that would explain why it's been so incredibly slow.

Maybe, maybe not. My pictures finally rendered, and they're disappointingly small and blurry. :( Now I'm wishing I could pose my characters in the game itself and just photograph the tv...

I'll post one of mine when it finally renders since I finally don't have to worry about taking a picture myself.

I checked this out and was kinda disappointed by it. I was under the impression, before Rock Band 2 came out, that the game, not the website, would let you take pics and record music videos. Instead, we got an extremely limited amount of options that take forever to load. I personally think the worst part is that you can't order a shirt that only has your logo on it which is lame.

Of course, this is all nitpicking and I still give them props for being the first game to do something like this.

I can't wait to order a shirt for our band Maruchan Ramen, or our yet to be created band who's name won't be mentioned for fear of it being snagged up. If I made a completely amazing character, I can see myself spending the money on an action figure, as I think that price is actually pretty fair for a custom figure.

I need to buy Rock Band 2 first, though 8-(.

Seriously...load up the RB1 tracks on your hard drive, trade it in towards RB2. So worth it.
