As we asked listeners in our most recent episode (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=6429), we at IGC would like to know:

If you could have any 3 arcade games, with the only restrictions being... one must be an upright, one must be a cocktail, and one must be a sitdown ... what would they be?

(if these terms are unclear, I have pictures! (http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/Cabinet-Types-whats-available-and-what-do-you-call-it_W0QQugidZ10000000001357888?ssPageName=BUYGD:CAT :-1:LISTINGS:2))

We will no doubt pour over these in awe of several great games we remember fondly, had forgotten, or have never even heard of, in an upcoming episode.

It's in the episode, but here's mine:

Cocktail - Ms. Pac-Man
Upright - Konami 4-Player Games (X-Men, Simpsons, TMNT)*
Sitdown - San Francisco Rush 2049

*Given the option, I would trade this for a pinball table - Funhouse, if you were curious.

My gut response (liikely to change if I sat and thought about it):

Cocktail - I've seen the Galaga/Ms. PacMan combos a lot back in the day, that would do just fine, if only for nostalgia alone.

Standup - Probably one of the 4-player beat-em-ups, the X-Men game leaping to mind first. I loved the hell out of that game. This one is most subject to change if I think on it...

SitDown - It's a toss up between Crazy Taxi and Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram. Both amazing, both really at thier best in the full sit-down cabinet. I think the edge goes to Virtual On for me, assuming I can get the full 2-player rig. If not, the choice becomes a lot harder, especially if the Crazy Taxi has the multiple cities in it.

Upright: Gals Panic S3.

Cocktail: Never came across one of those things. They probably were and, of course, still are nonexistent around here.

Sitdown: Scud Race. So many coins, and this music in my ears.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IuDskzKyhs&feature=related

For upright, I'm torn between: Bubble Bobble and a NEO-GEO SNK cabinet.
For cocktail: Warlords
For sitdown: Scud Race was pretty darn awesome.

Upright: Just because there's nothing quite like the arcade version, I'd go with a DDR here.

Cocktail: Ms PacMan/Galaga Combo!

This is easy.
Sit down: Tokyo Wars (about (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10142))

Good call on that game. Very slick with a bunch of folks playing.

Also makes me miss virtual on head to head.
