Just caught the news at Beyond Unreal (http://www.BeyondUnreal.com). For those that still care, the UT3 Titan Pack was just released for the PC.

* 16 new maps + 3 bonus pack 1 maps
* Titan mutator
* Greed and Betrayal gametypes
* Stinger Turret, Eradicator Cannon Artillery and the Stealthbender vehicle
* X-Ray Field and Link Station Deployables
* Slow-Field power-up (pickup version of the deployable of the same name)
* Two new characters: Nova (Liandri) and Kana (Ronin)
* 57 Steam Achievements
* Major enhancements, incuding AI, network performance, menu and UI, better mod support
* Client-side demo recording, updated server browser, new maplist system, mid-game mutator and gametype voting functionality

I guess you need to apply the patch first, then the pack.

* UT3 Patch 2.0 (http://download.beyondunreal.com/fileworks.php/official/ut3/UT3Patch4.exe) (309 MB)
* UT3 Titan Pack (http://download.beyondunreal.com/fileworks.php/official/ut3/UT3TitanPack.exe) (916 MB)

Downloading now. Anyone have plans to check this out?

hehe, your is much better presented and more informative than mine so if a mod would like to merge my thread with this one or such it would be the best idea i think. If the free weekend on steam is any good i could be tempted in to picking this up even if i won't play it much heh

I checked to see if the patch and update were on Steam and it doesn't look like they are yet (maybe if you download the whole package though?).

I kept both stories as they both have their own merits. :)

NO ONE seems to play this game. The servers are always dead. I got it on the machine I bought from a friend here recently, but have played maybe two games.

I've been able to find good CTF servers pretty frequently. Hopefully the added content will improve things a bit, if only for the short term. The game is so cheap now it's hard for anyone to complain about feeling ripped off.

Looks like Steam has started to update my install. It's at 5% now.

Unfortunately, I think there will be a surge of players enticed by the new stuff and the sale on Steam, but I think the online population will go back down to nil quickly. I really enjoy the game, but most people seem to get tired of it fast. :(

I've been playing it because of nostalgia of the glorious Q3A days. Straight on kill each other deathmatch is great... But yeah online population is low so I have to settle for bots.

Thanks. I never got into this game much. I really loved the original UT. I would have to say I played UT more than any other game. Anyways, thanks for the links. I'll have to get back to it.

I did as well. I still play the original with the warhammer 40,000 mods almost 1 time a week. Nothing like a bunch of Space Marines battling it out in Christmas Lego land. God those levels rocked.

Also available on PS3, as well as trophy support and in game mod browsing.

Is the update ready now for ps3? I was playing on the weekend, ran update (first time in console since purchase) but I didn't see any Trophy Support from the xmb or any extra maps, mod browsing. Has it been delayed for ps3?

Took a while, but it's up. I've gotten ONE trophy, they're pretty difficult/time-consuming.

I played it a bunch the last couple of days, and I have to say, Betrayal is awesome! Especially when you combine it with the SloMo Mutator that gives you a second of Slo-Mo every time you kill someone (offline only).

Once the games get going it feels like vintage UT but that accounts system is the single worst one I've ever seen. None of the 3 existing Gamespy ID's i had would work with it so I had to create a fourth. This, apparently isn't a unique problem.

Does the new UT3 Black still require Gamespy? or has it merged into Steam now?

Still needs Gamespy. It's more broken than GFWL.

Hell yeah. I played a mod as well. Infiltration. Had the community stayed active enough to keep servers populated, I'd still be actively playing it. The most fun I have ever had in online gaming was with Infiltration. Basically, I have been trying to find an online game to take the place of Infiltration, and have had no luck since. Maybe I just don't have the time either. But good times, good times.

UT 2003, UT 2004, and UT 3 just could not take me back to the good old days of UT.
