The Simpsons Game

I picked this up a month ago for $10 and I gotta say it's worth every penny at that price. This game is probably one the funniest Simpsons episodes I've ever had the pleasure of playing through. The game references are spot on and EA takes so many shots at themselves that I can't believe they let themselves get away with that.

I've been playing this game in co-op with my little brother and we love it. The missions are fun and it gives us both freedom to just run around and do what we want until we feel like finishing the mission. There's plenty of stuff to collect, both in the mission levels and in the open world. The "Video Game Cliches" are funny and every character has their own items to collect.

The camera is awkward at times as it causes deaths that if the camera had co-operated you'd still be alive; But the game has no "lives" system, unless both characters die, then you have to restart from a checkpoint. The game can also get very button-mashy at times but I have no problem with that given that when I'm out button mashing my brother is figuring out how to build a bridge or how to kill a boss.

All in all it's a great game for $10 and like I said, it's extremely funny. Even Will Wright makes an appearance! Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, I had a lot of fun with that one as a rental; $10 is a great price. It's one of those games that succeeds despite its faults (camera, level design in a few places, too much collecting) because of the story and humor. Plus being able to explore so many places in Springfield was a lot of fun.

Have you beat it yet? I loved the jokes in the last level, and the whole meta-nature of it all...

Nah, we just beat the Medal of Homer level and about to move on to the Super Fun Fun whatever game.
