Any Patton fans here at CoG?
I was his DC show tonight, and it was incredible. All new material, quite good and funny. The show was being recorded for a DVD & CD as well as a Comedy Central special. I had fifth-row center seats and one of the "audience reaction" camera guys kept focusing on my section, so maybe I'll appear somewhere on this one.

And then after the main set, he came out for an encore to record a separate EP of other material he wrote around Christmas but hasn't been able to use since the holiday's over.

All told he rocked us for about an hour and a half. My face still hurts from laughing so hard. I have no idea when these will be out, maybe this summer or fall?

If you're not familiar with Patton, this is one of my favorite bits (not in tonight's show, as this is older)

Awesome, I love all of his specials, and his Werewolves & Lollipops album. I was hoping he'd be recording a new one, so this is very good news, for me!

He's the only thing that allowed me to stomach Ratatouille.

This guy makes me lol. I've enjoyed his stand-up and every Comedians of Comedy special that I've seen.

I couldn't make it, but he did a MySpace secret show in Birmingham like 2 years ago that my friends went to. (If you hear the recording that's floating around, my buddy is the guy Patton talks to that lives "outside")

Does this guy have any other material? Seriously every time I hear about him it's always the KFC famous bowls shtick. I think the routine is funny as hell... but is that all he's got?

He's the only thing that allowed me to stomach Ratatouille.

He had a good bit last night about how Ratatouille completely ruined Halloween for him, and also on the horrors of going around to be interviewed by kids for Nickoledeon and Disney.

How often do you go see him? I've seen him maybe five times in the past six years and he only did that KFC routine once. Every show I've been to is at least half new material, often more.

I think my favorite bit of his is when he's comparing Bush and Cheney to the Dukes of Hazzard and says that they jumped the General Lee over the Bill of Rights.

That is pretty great, I also love this bit about Breakfast Treats:

when he handed William Shatner a paper bag and asked him to act his way out of it...yeah, he's hilarious.

He's awesome, as is Louis C.K.. I can't decide who's better, they both have me rolling.

I go back and forth between love and hate for this comic, and I can't quite say why.

I guess it's that while his material is funny, I would never want to hang out with him at a party. His voice grates.

Patton Oswalt is hilarious in Reno 911 and the Miami movie...oh man. His ad-libs are wonderful, and even his delivery of the scripted lines is so funny.

His "No immunity to bullets" was so funny that 'no immunity' has entered the vocabulary of my best friend and I. It was also our catchphrase for when Captain America died.

I've seen him several times. I always try to see him and David Cross when they're in town.

Favorite Bit: The Robert Evans for ESPN bit from Feelin' Kinda Patton.

"Loretta Swit had a bush you could hide a VCR in...Packers versus Lions...CATCH IT!"
"F... you, Buck Rogers, it's only a diver's watch!"

And the So Long, Gay Pride Parade! routine....oh man.

Classic.

Necro thread resurrection!

Remember that Patton Oswalt taping I attended? It's coming out on August 25 (and I think will be on Comedy Central on August 23). More info at Patton's site (http://www.pattonoswalt.com/), and you can already pre-order from Amazon.

Holy shit, I just finished watching it on Comedy Central, I was nearly to the point of vomiting from laughing at the finale. I'm like cringing in pain with tears streaming out of my eyes right now. Thank you Patton Oswalt, you've taken ten years off my life with your comedy.

Yeah, what an awesome show. I got the DVD pre-ordered...some of the funniest bits (like when he was looking for a new house) didn't even make it on the Comedy Central show, but I figured they'd be cut anyway. Hope that's on the dvd.

And you can totally hear my friend Timm laughing at the "Does this smell like chloroform?" joke long after everyone else in the audience stops...
