Echo becomes a backup singer to watch out for a female singing sensation with a very overzealous fan. Agent Ballard's investigation takes a turn for the worse.Ratings continue to take a dip as the series keeps getting better.
Interesting note : the writers of tonight's episode are Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen who also wrote on Dr. Horrible.
So...how long do you think this series lasts? I'm gonna go with 10 episodes.
8 shown 13 in the bag....

Good one so far. Nice fight scene in the warehouse and I didn't see the twist of that guy being an operative coming.

Well I saw the last 10 minutes and if this is the what the show is like when it's getting better, I'm glad I didn't see it when it was worse.
"You may be able to fire me, but bitch don't ever think you can take me." Lol.

Aside from the stuff with the detective this episode just kind of reinforced what the last episode told....only not as good of a story. There was even the same kind of flash at the end where it looked like she retained some small thing from the mission.
Next week's where Echo gets remotely wiped during a mission should be interesting.

I checked this show out on a whim on Hulu. I was expecting science fiction.
I got what Penny Arcade called The Real World recreated as science fiction. I have to agree. And it sucks.

This was the first episode of Dollhouse I've seen. Meh... if this is as good as it gets then I doubt I'll watch it anymore. :(

People keep saying the show's getting better. Nah, that's not really true. They pretty much equally suck, with this edging out both of the previous episodes for stupidity. But I read an interview with Eliza Dushku saying it get's good at episode six (which is supposedly when Fox stepped away from the production and let Whedon do his thing) so I'll keep watching.

I'm sure after episode six we'll hear how the finale is just awesome.
Then how cool the next season would have been if only Fox hadn't cancelled it.

Wasn't a bad ep, just not quite as good as last week's. I thought Echo was supposed to be the special/ different one. The other one remembered Echo at the end of the show and kept walking after Echo shook her head. Perhaps the show is leaning more towards the programmer guy letting them retain their info/ personality more than it being a glitch.

Actually, this episode was about Actives retaining their "real" personality after they've been implanted with a new one. "Friends help each other out".

This episode was pretty bad. I'll keep watching, but I don't think I'll cry when this gets canceled. I'm betting on 3 more episodes aired, with a few more already being shot. I read some article that said episode 6 is where it gets interesting, so maybe we'll just have to wait. Who knows?
EDIT: Yes, it seems someone has already stated that. Fuck reading, ammirite? Ignorance is bliss.

There were some serious lady-abs in this episode. I felt crushed just watching them.

It's sad that this strikes me as entirely plausible.

I didn't even finish this last episode; I think I stopped it about halfway through. I'll probably get back to it later, but the first time through I found the singing to be just too damn annoying. But, like others have said, I expect the show will get canned here soon (no quess on when from me, though), so, as I said before, I'll probably keep watching until they do.

I really think it boded well that they had a Dollhouse Hulu commercial. I think Fox realizes that this show wasn't going to be mainstream hit like House. Stick it in on Friday, no need to worry about ratings, but know that its main group is going to watch it online.

I'm right where PA describes. I don't think it's that good, but I'm gonna keep watching cause he made something that was good.
I mean the whole thing is obviously building up to her "compositing" or whatever it is when they retain their memories implanted and original... I'm sure it'll be interesting when that happens but these episodes just seem like realllly long exposition of "this is how it is before event X happens." It's like the real show hasn't started yet, but it probably won't get the chance.

That describes my thoughts exactly.

I dunno, I'm more of a Buffy/Angel fan than a Firefly fan (which I think sets me apart from most, at least where I hang out), and I've been enjoying Dollhouse in a laid back sort of why. I never minded Eliza as Faith in Buffy, and I haven't disliked her so far in Dollhouse. I guess I'm just not that discerning about bad acting, although from what I can tell, the acting in Sanctuary is many times worse than Dollhouse (I canned that show after 3-4 episodes).
I'll keep watching for now and hopefully the show will improve. Even the first season of Buffy was one of the weaker ones so we'll see.
