Whether they make you feel guilty or not, what are yours? Mine...in random order

* A quiet moment or two with my wife; rare.
* Michael Buble music. "Home" and "Everything" make me melt.
* Chocolate. I love it.
* Lunch with the wife at Olive Garden.
* "Candyman" by Christina Aguilera. I LOVE the blend of '40's music and modern pop. I'd love an entire album like that one.
* Games, but mainly because I buy far more than I can even play. :o
* Vacations at the ocean and lake. Bliss...
* Saturday morning sleep-ins. Amazingly, my kids let my wife and I do it, and run things for us until nine or ten...with the oldest being only eight! She feeds them all cereal and milk, changes the diapers, and we sleep! Yeah! :)
* Snuggles with my little ones. My two-year-old likes to give kisses, but she HAS to give one on each cheek; "Cheek! Other cheek!." It's adorable.
* Time to sit, meditate, and read the Bible. It's hard to come by, so I feel guilty I don't, not when I do. :(
* XM Radio and Netflix. We don't have cable or many other subscription services, to save money, but these two are luxuries we allow ourselves.
* "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. Love the song.
* My Yukon XL SLT. More car than we needed, but a joy to drive and ride in.
* An ice cold beer in the evening.

Any guilty, or not so guilty, pleasures out there?

I've recently become slightly obsessed with Mighty Muggs. I don't know why, but I really get a kick out of going to stores and seeing what I might find. I just picked up Megatron (http://www.brianstoys.com/store/images/products/Transformers/Mighty%20Muggs/TRA_Mighty_Mugg_Megatron.jpg)the other day!

Also...Naruto. I got hooked on the books when I used to work in a bookstore. I'm pretty embarrassed by this one. :(

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but my job. I love it, I really do, but when I look at those around me, I do feel kind of guilty about it. Take my brother, for example. He gets up early in the morning (like most people, I'm sure) and goes and works a physically demanding job late into the night. And what about me? Oh, well, if I didn't want to, I wouldn't have to get up before ten, and then I just sit at home all day, playing video games or typing on the computer to earn my keep. Hardly seems fair at times, you know?

Oh well, if things work out – and I must admit, compared to last year (probably one of the lower points in my life), 2009 is off to a good start – I'll do my best to make right such situations. :D

Having a job at all nowadays seems almost a guilty pleasure. :(

*World of Warcraft Action Figures...sadly I have them all even the rare Orc and fucking dig them.
*Electronics of all kinds
*Cheap RC copters and planes. The 30-40 buck ones. I have about 7 and love taking them out and flying them around.

Shit TV. 90210, I'm looking at you. (And Nip/Tuck, to a lesser extent, although that show is basically "Let's-Take-Every-Guilty-Pleasure-From-Any-Show-And-Roll-It-Into-One.")

- Correcting people when they speak/type incorrectly. I'm very serious.
- Reading Discover magazine.
- Dorky girls. I just love it when girls can be dopey and intelligent. So hot.
- Watching Big Bang Theory. There's no story there, it's not a good show, but damn do I love the nerd jokes.
- Coding. Programs, HTML, website scripting; you name it, I love it.
- Dark beer, namely Guinness. Just so good...

I suppose there are a lot of others, but those are the good ones.

EDIT:

- Gossip Girl. True story.

This is a future hobby of mine and my son's, when he's a little older. It looks like such fun!

Story time with my kid. He loves Thomas the Tank Engine, and I've started to find the stories oddly addicting, even though they're all exactly the same.

A good bottle of Irn bru over the weekend.

A take-out coffee in the morning and lunch at my local Japanese restaraunt every Friday.

The Simpsons. No matter how bad the episode, I'll still watch it if it's on tv.

A fish supper.

Cheese and onion crisp sandwhiches.

Going to the pictures with the wife.

I'm secretly a yarn snob. If I could afford it I wouldn't knit with acrylic unless I actually needed it for something.
Law & Order, all of them, even the reruns I've seen 50 times I will still watch and enjoy them.
Sharpies. I love them.
I sleep with a teddy bear.
Pillows. There are currently seven on my bed. Usually only six, the seventh is for holding the comforter up at the foot so there is less pressure on my broken toe.
Hoodies, I'm never without one.
I enjoy correcting people when they use bad grammar; typed, spoken, even on instant messengers.
I enjoy pissing people off on purpose, it entertains me.

If I had any guilt about it odds are I wouldn't do it. I.E. if I enjoy something I'm damn well going to enjoy it. Still there is one...

-Cookies, or cookie like things (non donut pastries). Nom nom nom nom, oh shit I just ate the equivalent of 15 Oreos in one sitting! (I don't actually like Oreos though)

It's just that I try to eat relatively well, and then there's a giant batch of good tasting cookies sitting near a convenient supply of cold milk.

-Playing games with my daughters(they love PAIN and Flower)

-Playing Rock band with the wife(She sings I play guitar).

-Being by myself and relaxing(happens very rarely).

-Sleeping(also happens very rarely).

-Lying in bed watching TV.

-lying in bed, holding the wife close.

-Picking fights with Halo haters. It's fun watching them get pissed over nothing. :D

Hmmm... It's tough to find something like this because my life seems so driven by responsibility and obligation. Few of the things I do involve both guilt AND pleasure.

A couple that come to mind:

Gaming: Yeah, I could be doing something productive, but I don't watch much TV so this is my one easily assessable "hobby" outlet.
Good Eats: I love Alton Brown! I'll watch an episode of Good Eats even if I've seen it 6 times before! This is pretty much my only TV aside from...
Watching Jeopardy with my wife: She's got Entertainment and Lit covered, I've got all the sciences. Our only downfall is Sports and Opera. We shout the answers at the TV and mock the contestants.
Long motorcycle rides: Only because it takes me away from the home and loved ones for so long. But it's in my blood and my wife knows when I've got to get out on the road and go all Zen-like in the mountains or along the coast.

Pillows.

I totally forgot about this one. My wife and I bring our pillows any time we go away for an overnight stay, no matter where we're going. We love our own pillows (nice goose down pillows...very soft), and we've gotten our kids into the habit as well, so they bring theirs on trips too. :)

Wow. This list...I swear this is an ADDGirl list. Verbatim. If I didn't know you really existed (i've seen you and ADD communicate via AIM) I would think ADDGirl has an alter ego on here. Eerie. Especially that last one...that is soooo ADD.

Listening to Tony Bennet if I need to relax.
Having a nice glass of red wine every so often
Vacation in Vermont with my friends, doing as little as possible.
Writing, be it working on the novel, or on a blog post
Having a nice conversation (usually gaming related) in a Live Party while playing.
Working through my gaming backlog (which is more of an exercise in futility than anything)
Bouldering - It is immensely satisfying to make it up a problem that I was unable to climb the week before.
Finding deals on games, knowing that it will go in the pile, no matter how cheap it was.

One of my passions is gourmet cooking. And when I'm cooking I use all natural food only, no processed food, no imitations, etc. And I go for taste and flavour, so I use whatever is needed to bring out the best in the food.

This means using butter, salt, wine (or other types of alcohol) in my food. And the place smells AMAZING in the process. :D

Oh yes, and eggs. Lots of 'em. Fuck cholesterol.

Doom, the movie.

SHUT UP!

"Guilty pleasure" is such a weird term for me because it sounds like it should mean something you enjoy that you feel bad for enjoying because you feel that it's morally wrong. But it seems that people generally consider it something they feel embarrassed about because others sometimes see it as being lame or uncool. Anyway, I'll go by the latter definition.

Guilty:
- Browsing CoG regularly
- Playing (and being quite good at) Rock Band/DDR/other rhythm games
- Enjoying Gears 2 more than L4D
- Still enjoying Dragonball Z after all these years
- Having a Twitter account
- Being somewhat obsessed with Lee Van Cleef

Somewhat guilty or not really guilty:
- Loving spaghetti westerns
- Watching Jeopardy! and yelling the answers at the TV (like Buddha, I also ridicule the contestants, but I imagine Buddha is much better at it)

I'm sure there are others, but those are what immediately came to mind.

Doom, the movie.

SHUT UP!

Because you added "SHUT UP!" before even giving a chance for anyone to react, I'll leave you alone. ;)

I was thinking, in the OP, of things that are actual guilty pleasures (you feel bad or embarrassed by them, but still enjoy them), and things that aren't really guilty pleasures, but you enjoy them.

I have both types in the OP, but I don't know if I was clear about it.

Threesomes.

I was going to say "You, your left hand, and your right hand?", but decided I wouldn't.

Of course, now I have. So I messed that up. :(
