Last night I watched Big Trouble in Little China and despite even my own admittance that making it a viable game would be difficult, I DESIRE it with no equal.

This is going to sound really weird, and maybe out of nowhere... but Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers". It'd be one of those point-and-click adventure games, and it'd have the saddest ending ever.

I could like to see the Jet Li/Jason Statham kick-ass-extravaganza "The One" made into a first person action game. Of course, I also think it'd make a kick-ass comic.
Also, if you've ever played the game Façade (http://www.interactivestory.net/), I'd love to have a game like that, say, mixed with Lifeboat (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037017/) (directed by Alfred Hitchcock and written by John Steinbeck) or Night of the Living Dead.

I think that could also work as an MMO-ish game played in rounds. The specific character is preset, but you can customize the clothes. Players then spend a month or two tracking down the other versions of themselves trying to eliminate them. At the end of the round The One left alive is declared the winner of the round. New round starts, new character, etc.

I was trying to be meta, saying that someone should make a game out of a mockumentary about people trying to adapt an unadaptable novel into a movie. (Have fun parsing that sentence). Seems it was lost on everyone. Hey, at least someone else besides me saw the movie. :)

I always hoped for a Tekken style game but with all the big action stars from movies. If done correctly, taken into account their different fighting styles, maybe little nods to their more popular movies. Just imagine the roster:
Sly Stallone, Donnie Yen, Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Wesley Snipes, Seagal, Lundgren, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Chuck Norris, Sammo Hung.. etc.
It could be awesome.
Failing that, Best of the Best. That could a simple martial arts fighting game, just using the story from the film, but giving you the power to change the ending.
The things I could accomplish if I was a billionaire...

Mimic (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119675/) - B grade horror flick with giant cockroaches, Mira Sorvino, Charles S Dutton, and directed by Del Toro. It would be great as a survival horror game.
The Seventh Seal (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050976/) - [Det Sjunde Inseglet] Ingmar Bergman's masterpiece of Death, Chess, and existence. Apply Bengt Ekerot's cryptic lines as Death to the Chessmaster engine (instead of Josh Waitzkin) and you have a true hit. Bonus points if you can get William Sadler to voice some cameo instruction to wayward players.
Mansquito (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mansquito) - Come on! It's frigging Mansquito! What medium wouldn't become more awesome by having this epic story translated into it? Shooter, adventure game, platformer, RTS, MMO, whatever. Just make this happen EA. Mansquito is awesome.

They could make a Fallout-esque Boy and His Dog game... and just call it Fallout.
How about They Live? Although everyone would call it a Duke Nukem ripoff...
Basically, most movies with a realistic premise for games already have them, or have at least influenced them. I generally prefer unique ideas designed to work as a game.

Um, none. Too many games try to be like movies as it is. How about more people take a page from Tim Shafer and Ken Levine focus on telling some interractive stories. Rather than telling an epic war narrative through a mini golf course.
That is not to say that film cannot inspire game makers. Creators carry with them their own, personal history. You cannot tell me that the original SplinterCell team were not huge fans of many of the concepts that Batman brought. The effect of Ridley Scott on shooters is undeniable.

The Hills Have Eyes (remake)
This game is quite simple, as it's based entirely on the scenes where the young father gets back his baby. It'd play out like RE4 but with no apparent "objective". You start out almost exactly like in the movie, you hide and exploit the freaks stupidity to your advantage, use what you find as weaponry Condemned style and kill your way to freedom through increasingly more surreal settings and more mutated freaks. ...it'd be awesome.
I've seen the anime that Casshern, a reamake or something, that it is based on...lol. His robot dog? Turns into a mini-jet. He's pretty much win personified.

Casshern is win period. Speaking of win by design, how about a Guyver Game.

As long as they get Mark Hamill to make a cameo in the game, what else could work better? ;)
That movie needs mention in the "Bad movies you like" thread.
It was awesomely terrible.

Oh, 4 was the one where you played an American Minute Man, killing Mexcicans, right. 5 is the one where you take back the world for the white man, one charcoal skinned, crack smoking, darkie at a time.

For some reason, Jumanji comes to mind. In fact... that problem should have been a video game and NOT a movie.

How about a Transporter game. Hell, anything with a taste of Luc Besson.

Falling Down - Blue Collar, glasses wearing dad beats the shit out of thugs with a baseball bat.
The Quick and the Dead - Not sure how it would work, but the duels would be cool.
Children of the Corn - Survival Horror w/ kids!
Kids - Have underage sex, do drugs and try not to get AIDs.
Pulp Fiction - Just because it's my favorite movie.
Seven - Again....one of my fav movies. It could be good if done right.
Event Horizon - No fucking explanation needed!

Nah, Dead Space is close but what made Event Horizon scary was the fact that they were killing themselves because of the hallucinations and such. Dead Space has crazy space monsters. Now I haven't played it yet, so if it's not what I'm thinking, don't ruin it for me.:p

Ummm they were killing themselves because of the chaos dimension gave the ship life. It wasn't just hallucinations. The only person to get killed solely because of hallucinations was that one chick chasing a kid. It was supernatural type shit.

Versus (can't say no to samurai mafia zombie insanity) and Apocalypse Now! Redux. You slowly cruise up the river for hours while pouring over documents, listening to the chatter of your boatmates (co-op mode!) and watching the jungle. Occasionally you stop for an enemy encounter or a depressing cutscene. Stealth/melee action finale, and an awesome Doors soundtrack.

EH would be an awesome game. I love the less tangible bad guy and the fact that the ship itself is alive. Gives me a Warhammer 40,000 Warpspace feel to it.

I dunno, it could be argued. Weir hallucinated about his wife and then gouged out his own eyes. He didn't die, but it was still the hallucinations that drove him to it. Then it was him that planted the bomb to kill Smith. Either way, I do see some resemblance with Dead Space, but I'm more looking for scary hallucinations and people going crazy and killing themselves and each other. Not knowing who to trust, someone could help you one second and try to kill you another. I'd want it to be more of a Silent Hill style of game ( walking around investigating stuff and talking to your crew) as opposed to a run and gun shooter with crazy monsters. While I like action games, I also like survival RPG type games. I dunno, it's hard to explain, but perhaps some day I'll make the game I'm envisioning myself. :p

I think Brotherhood of the Wolf could make an excellent action/adventure/mystery game.
I would love a game based on Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, maybe not the movie itself but set in that world.
And of course, Eyes Wide Shut: The Game. It could be a massively multiplayer online masquerade orgy simulator.

This could work actually...The opening would be just like in the movie. You choose from an assortment of different otherwise upstanding citiziens who are on the breaking point, and they each then have a branching storyline to follow (so you have an actual objective to do) but each time you start a new game, it starts at a different location in the city, like on a Bus, a traffic jam...on the sidewalk or at Work.

I see your Nausicaa game and raise you a Princess Mononoke game. Hell, just about any of Miyazaki's worlds would translate well into a game. Except maybe Totoro.
