Total Film and Empire are the greatest movie magazines out there, bar none.
And that was a fascinating read. Thanks for posting it, Jason.

Yeah...that was a weird time for comics.
First reaction upon seeing the thread title: THE INVISIBLES.

Pretty funny.
Why They’ll Never Make It: As much as we’d love to see Superman being a complete bastard, that’s probably not what Warners have in mind for the franchise.
Who Could Direct It If They Did: McG. With Christian Bale in the lead. What?

That is not the original quote off the cover of Archie Meets the Punisher. I had that comic when I was younger. I'm just saying.
Joel Schumacher already made the pink batman movie

I was thinking more along the line of The Invisibles/Transmetropolitan. Of course, the Golden/Silver age crap will never be filmed.

You could totally film the first chunk of the Invisibles, and demonstrated quite well by The Matrix.

Some of the stuff is creepy rather than out-and-out 'cool'. Morpheus teaching Neo Kung-fu? Cool. Mad Tom taking Jack's eyes and forcing him to see the city through the eyes of a pigeon? Creepy.

www.supermanisadick.com used to have some pretty awesome covers from that period, but the site went down a while ago. This site (http://www.foldedspace.org/weblog/2005/02/superman_is_a_dick.html) has a couple of them mirrored.

I love that site, Tele. I think the one where Superman has adopted Jimmy Olson and is very upset about his Father's Day gift is my fave.

You have to admit though, a Transmetropolitan movie would be insanely awesome
If done right of course...

Patrick Stewart was trying to do a Transmet movie for a while. It never got off the ground though.
