Similar to my once beloved (so I'm told) Fireside Roundup over at Evil Avatar, I've decided to neatly summarize the previous week's happenings for those who have just joined us, or those who simply missed out on all the excitement(s).
First of all, Welcome to Colony of Gamers (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=105), your one-stop shop for gaming and general entertainment news and features. In time I hope to include more links, etc. to articles from the CoG Network of sites -
Colony of Gamers (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/../)
Co-Optimus (http://www.co-optimus.com/)
Immortal Machines (http://www.immortalmachines.com/)
In-Game Chat (http://www.ingamechat.net/)
Johnny Gigawatt (http://www.johnnygigawatt.com/)
Play It Review It (http://www.playitreviewit.com/)
First up (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=246) is Michael (Doctor Finger)'s troubling news on the troubling lack of "special" to be included in the Collector's Edition of Fable II. So is it still worthy of a purchase? Check out the article and make your own mind up.
On the subject of Fable II, our very own Nick (bapenguin) managed to snag an interview with Fable 2 Lead Designer, Dean Carter, for Co-Optimus. You can check it out here (http://www.co-optimus.com/interview/80/page/1/Fable_2_Co-Op_Interview_-_Orbs_and_All.html).
Andrew (TrackZero) was recently on hand (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=299) at Ubisoft's multiplayer Far Cry 2 preview event. For a game that's been flying under many people's radar given the impending arrival of heavy hitters like Gears of War 2, Crysis: Warhead, you may just be a little surprised at what Far Cry 2 has to offer.
Scott (Psykoboy2 - don't ask what happened to the first Psykoboy...) broke the news that at least a half dozen of us were waiting for - the Resistance 2 public beta applications were open (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=328).
Finally, and perhaps more worryingly, our other Andrew (Siraris) had the dubious pleasure of letting us all know that the Xbox 360 had outsold the PlayStation 3 during the month of September (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=445). In Japan. And this on the back of a sold out month in August. In Japan.
In. Japan.
My beer is only 4.5%, so I'm sure I'm not havering.
Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks for being just one cog in the CoG makeup.

And if I haver, yeah I know I'm gonna be;
I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you.
BUT I WOULD WALK 500 MILES AND I WOULD WALK 500 MORE JUST TO BE THE MAN WHO WALKED A THOUSAND MILES TO FALL DOWN AT YOUR DOOR.
thank you so much for that

Aw man, now you have that song stuck in my head/the scene from How I Met Your Mother when that song first came up.

Killin' me, here man, killin' me here! Now all I can see and hear are those two blond twins standing and singing. Good song though but damn! :p
Oh, and good idea, Big J! I'm glad you've decided to help cater to the laziest of us out here once again. :D

You know, you can still say Evil Avatar here. And we won't censor out the name, either.

Thanks to you and Google, I have finally, after all these years, looked up the definition of havering.
Just thought you'd want to know.

Thanks for bringing back this feature, it was great to read, even though it was only for a few weeks. Hopefully this one will last longer!

Everyone should have an appreciation of havering.

No mention of the Johan sighting? The uncovering of Wonda Mic's alias on here? What kind of round up is this? Oh wait, a real one...
This is just plain awesome! So useful to have everything recapped like this :) If something similar to this went onto the podcast I'd love it more than I already do (I dunno if that's possible). Also you totally should use a censoring plugin that reverses Evil Avatar or produces anagrams, mostly because it'd amuse me.

As for censoring or otherwise messing with the words Evil and Avatar, it's not going to happen. There's little point in CoG stooping to that level of immaturity. Besides, I suspect the biggest reason for CoG being censored over at EvAv is because Phil (Evil) sees us as a threat. He'd rather pretend to himself and the community that we don't exist.

So... what did happen to the first Psykoboy? I demand to know.
Thanks.
No problem.

I know, I'd never seriously suggest censoring it. Censorship for that sort of reason just makes you look immature, as you said. Of course I'm all for censoring Scott, but I mean who isn't?
Only kidding. Scott is awesome beyond comprehension. If only someone could teach him to pronounce words.
By the way when is CoG et al. gonna get a Wiki entry? Wiki entries are fun :) I'd do it, but I don't wanna screw it up and be flamed to death.

You don't want to know, it was violent and ugly. Cats were also involved.
I second the use of anagrams instead of censoring words. It's hilarious, without being "You can't use this word because it's BAAAAAAAADDDDDDD!!!!!!!!" It also provides a bit of mystery and works your brain.

As an aside, I want to take the time to thank rini and everyone else for this (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=395).
I thought about including it in the mail news post, but decided against it for fear of being accused of something sinister.

Yes, we know you're secretly using the site to fuel your videogame addiction. You are the most sinister person here, lying to us and making us feel like we were wanted for the community! ;)
/me gets in a huff and leaves
.You are the most sinister person here...
Close but no cigar.

I always looked forward to these. Glad to see them again.

Great round up. I love these things. Especially in a week like this previous one where things were so hectic for me, sometimes I miss something.
So when are you going to get a webdesigner who can put this site in a Jell-O or liquid format already? I'm so annoyed at only having a small portion of my screen used.

I am a huge fan of the first two records of The Proclaimers. For the lovers out there, Oh Jean is a great song for Business Time. Shit, I still have cassettes of those two records, bought when they came out.
Oh, and I'm glad this is back too, James. I'll also see if I can squeeze another donation out for the PS3.

Spot on, James. I love these write-ups of yours.
And also, thanks for sharing "havering". I love learning new words! :D

Hmm, I thought it was a candy man sort of thing. Say it too often and...
Anyways, the weekly round up is a great feature! Please to continue, da?

Oh, they have a web designer on staff, and he certainly could make the site do what you're requesting.
However, it's not going to happen.
