I was not the only member of the CoG family to invade the New York Comic Con this weekend to give you the details on the games you can't yet play, but will soon be lusting after. Our own BAPenguin - proprietor of Co-Optimus - also braved the wilds of Hell's Kitchen to bring you the gaming previews you need. Head over to Co-Optimus and you can read up on Dragon Age Origins (http://www.co-optimus.com/article/1258/Dragon_Age_Hands_on_Preview_%5BNYCC%5D.html), Battlefield 1943 (http://www.co-optimus.com/article/1257/Battlefield__1943_Impressions_%5BNYCC%5D.html) and Prototype (http://www.co-optimus.com/preview/142/page/1/Activision_Preview_Event_-_Prototype__X-Men_Origins__Wolverine_and_Wolfenstein.html).

Dragon Age sounds so good, as did Baldurs Gate. I just can't get over the "I control the whole group" concept.

I think I'm done with the Battlefield series. It peaked with BF2, and then slowly declined. Prototype doesn't interest me in the slightest either.
I'll probably pick up Dragon Age though. It looks fairly interesting.
I couldn't get into Baldurs Gate 1 or 2, yet I still buy almost every D&D style game that comes out. I figure one day one will turn out to be what I'm looking for.
The complete lack of multiplayer is a bit dumb though. Is D&D a single player game now?

Oh man, Dragon Age is a definite purchase for me. However, which platform to get it for?
Edit: Me want Wolverine game. Like now.

Hopefully my PC will be able to run Dragon Age. If not, at least I've got the 360 as back up

All three look great. I want to be playing them all right now...

I can't wait for Dragon Age. Though, technically speaking, it's not a D&D game.

Re: BF1943: There are some changes here though, namely a regenerative health system and an infinite stockpile of ammo. So while you'll still find yourself reloading your guns and getting into cover, you won't be seeking out heavy weapon or medic classes to help you accomplish this. This also means those classes are cut. Instead you have the Rifleman, Infantry, and the Scout. So does one of these classes get to use anti-tank weapons?
(I remember taking down enemy aircraft w/ anti-tank in BF1942. Wasn't easy, but was fun when it worked.)

Sounds like they're dumbing down Battlefield even more. Bad Company was the first step and 1943 looks to complete the transition.
And regarding Dragon Age, as long as they are departing from D&D, maybe they will also make it so that your character is fun before level 7-8.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with D&D 4th Ed CRPGs. The game is tailor-made for videogames. Playing it is basically like a videogame without a PC or console. Lots of powers though, at least four at first level for every class, two "at will," one once per combat and one daily.

Totally agreed! The moment I laid my hands on 4E, all I could think about was Neverwinter Nights 3: Escape from Plaguewrought City !
