Hey everyone, it's time to get back into Brawl!

For a while after launch we had a great core group of Brawlers who would play every few days, but that sadly broke off over time. We even ran a fun little tournament (http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?p=r&user=LonLonRabbit&page=1) back at EvAv which provided some memorable matches.

I personally haven't played for months, but find myself thinking every week how much I want to get back into the game. Some of the main Brawlers from back at launch have already expressed a similar sentiment so I'm sure we'll be able to get some good games going soon (special thanks to Baron for giving me a kick in the pants to start up this thread).

The question to all of you is, however, how structured do we want to make this? If we want this to last, I think we'll need to make a weekly Brawl night, so to start with everyone should reply here with what nights and approximate times suit them best.

In the meantime, I suggest you all also:

1. Hit up Doctor Setebos' great webpage (http://creator.zoho.com/evav_wii/codes) which he knocked up a while back to ease the pain of friend code sharing and add your details. If your details are already there, you might want to update your "Prime Time" info.



2. Head on over to AniAko's CoG Steam Thread (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=98) and get yourself joined up to that group too which will make Brawl event notifications possible, and also make it easy for you to set up spontaneous Brawls any time of the week. If you don't use Steam or play any PC games, I would seriously consider grabbing the ap anyway as it gives us a place to chat and contact each other quickly before, during or after games.

I'm still a Wario man, with quite a bit of playtime now into P.T. and Falco.

Yeah, that's right, Falco. I thought I hated conforming to the "woah awesome STAR FOX" crowd of tourney types but then I realized that Falco was my worst character so naturally I started playing as him a lot. Also, he's fun!

And for those who are obsessed with Tiers, yeah, that's right, P.T. Even more fun than Falco.

Also, after a hilariously giddy-tired, late-night Brawl-fest with friends a few weeks ago, I feel the craving to compete with Captain Falcon.

Just a reminder, AniAko has specially set up the CoG Steam group so every lowly little member can set up an event - if you're about to play Brawl at any time, just throw up an announcement on the Steam group and hopefully some people will join you.

I will be doing this on Friday morning my time, should be thursday afternoon/evening for most of you guys.

I'll throw up an event announcement and hop in the CoG chat, it's easy for me as the tv is next to the PC but for those without such a setup you may need to hop into the chat and trade codes with me and anyone else playing before then going and starting up Brawl.

To make an event, go to the community tab on steam, click on the Colony of Gamers group (if you've joined it) and click "Schedule an Event" on the right hand side, under "Enter chat room" which you should also be doing.

If anyone's playing now hop in that chat room too if possible.

360 is not near the PC or Wii actually, but on a different tv, I may move it near the PC and Wii but I'm not sure.

I use a wired connection and it's a LOT better, but that may have more to do with our wireless network just being a bit crappy than anything else.

I just generally find it faster and more stable.

I would play in this, I really would, but Brawl's online is so horrid that I can't bring myself to play it. I mean, when your playing someone who doesn't even live halfway across town and it lags to a slideshow, you've got a problem.

Sometimes it all goes to hell and it stutters like mad but especially if I'm just doing one on one, I most commonly have no frame lostt and just a bit of a delay. If you live that close to each other it really shouldn't be that bad.

Also I was here on day 1 (or 2, the first day people other than mods were here), just haven't been posting a tonne.

The lag's not bad once you get use to it; but the window for a hit and the timing for a lot of moves is much shorter than in local play. I die off of lost button presses or when I start button mashing a move, because the timing window has upped and changed on me. Just tonight when I was playing Wario against you, Lon Lon, I distinctly remember not jumping off my bike in time and driving straight off the edge because of lag.

Yup a LAN adapter which I thought was Nintendo's official one but it's actually a Datel one I think.

They made the box look JUST like other official Wii products, and the dude at EB even told me it was the official one.

It works fine though, a little costly but I think that kind of device either works or it doesn't.

It's very easy to set up, just plug it all in and then set up a wired connection in the Wii options.

Charge affects height, but as far as I know the horizontal direction is random (unless there is some way to direct it which works differently to how other characters can angle their smashes).

Heavyweights came through last night. In particular, we had a rather epic last match, with Ondo as Falcon, and Lint and I as Wario. Suffice to say, Lint and I spent the entire match wiggling about and trying to bite everyone and everything in sight. What's even better is that it came down to a Wario vs. Wario Sudden Death, and Sakurai saw fit to boot us from the NWFC.

Hope to catch ya'll on Sat. We stuck with the heavyweights theme last night, so let's do lightweights: Fox, Squirts, Jiggles, Pika, Diddy, etc.

And I think it was my tubes' fault. If I was booted back to the main menu while you just got sent to the Wi-Fi room, that means I lost my connection to the Internet. Believe me, at this new apartment that happens a lot, no matter what I'm doing. Back where I lived most of last year I never had random disconnects while playing Brawl. When it does work, it's usually kinda fast.

Our group worked pretty well last night, and I'd like it if we could get more consistent games going.

It'd be nice if we could aim for Monday nights from 9 PM EST. If you have a XBL gold account, makes sure you've got all of us added so that we can chat during the games. Also, be aware that your 360 controller will disconnect after a while because of lack of use, so you'll have to reconnect it from time to time.
