Amazon now has a Game Downloads page (http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Games/b/ref=sa_menu_gdown1?ie=UTF8&node=979455011) (subtly marked as a beta), with downloadable PC games priced $9.99 or less. Unfortunately, it looks like it's all casual/bargain titles. The only "big name" title I recognized was Puzzle Quest.
And trying to browse through their list of titles, it sometimes jumps into their normal PC titles, so the page still has some bugs I guess.
Anyway, it looks like this might be a good way of reaching casual gamers, who might not use services like Steam or GameTap.

Got me interested in Spandex Force. I'd say that makes it effective boxart.

Spandex Force is a so/so superhero rip-off of Puzzle Quest.
It's not nearly as involved, and it has fewer options such as equipment and enemy variety.
Mushroom Age, according to my wife, is one of the greatest casual games ever made. It's evidently a item hunt/puzzle game with a very humorous story involving exploding rubber ducks and time travel.
My wife loves casual PC titles, so I get to learn about them against my will.

This is awesome, and I'm thrilled at installing another downloader on my PC. This makes five now.
UPDATE: I am weak. I downloaded two of the FREE games and bought two of them at $6.99 ea. :D

Mushroom Age looks and sounds like the people making it were on shrooms, and I can't tell if I want it or not.

Wow, that boxart is....interesting.
It seems like they may be scraping the bottom of the barrel here. I'm sure Amazon will do well though, since they are such a huge company. The market is crowded, and I can't see this taking off like their MP3 store has, but I still think they will do well.

From what my wife tells me, your assessment is pretty damn close.
You have time travel, meet God, befriend a dinosaur and a spaceman from the future. Also, there is a rubber-duckie bomb capable of destroying the planet. It's a casual game, but she raved about it for a long time.

Sounds like you are readying a purchase from them soon. How long until you try some of the free stuff.
