View Full Version : Rock Band 2 shouldn't have passed Microsoft's QA

If you play Rock Band 2 with a live account and a local account at the same time, anytime you sign in or out it may decide to overwrite all your data with that of someone else who's playing.

Tons of time, all down the drain.

And just to add insult to injury, if you re-create your band it'll let you know the name is already in use on Xbox Live.

Got any links to people on the RB forum reporting the same thing? This sounds a bit troubling.

The main thread about the problem is here (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79459).

Weird I play with my wife a bit and she only has a local account. Luckily we haven't had a problem yet.

That's what I call a widespread issue there.

For me, and the people I play with, the issue has hit when we want to switch instruments, and sign out and back in to do so. Do you do that much?

That's insane... really bad bug. I'm not quite sure I understand how it happens, though.

Me and my wife play all the time, same circumstances and we've never seen it before either. Weird.

Of course, we don't switch instruments. Personally, I think the whole GamerTag system is busted when it comes to these types of games. Just my opinion 'tho. (Linking the tag to the controller is good, except when you're passing the controller around. In those games, it should link it to the character, who is automatically logged in.)

I guess I'll not let my friends log in their XBL accounts during our play sessions till this is patched.

Ugh - scary stuff. Reminds me of when my Guitar Hero 1 game got wiped - that was a frustrating and sad day. They should be patching in the near future then. Definitely got to take Wolvie's advice - no one else is allowed to log in locally when online!

Yowch. Hadn't heard about this, luckily I haven't been in a situation where I would be doing that.

Good to know if I go to a friends house though.

I do hate the whole gamertag system. Luckily this hasn't happened to me.Boy, I would be pissed as I have over 30 million fans, 940 stars, and countless battle of the bands that I would never be able to play again.

Man, I would say this is one situation where being a shifty loner has really worked to my advantage.

So why not just sign everyone up for Silver? All of my friends have Silver accounts. Why wouldn't you? If someone is only going to play for a little while and so creating one would be a pain, just give your account ownership of their character. One account can have 24 characters, four of them playing at once.

Wellllllll....I don't disagree, but I have several accounts on my X360 for my kids. I routinely play Rock Band with them. I don't WANT them on Live.

Then, to dodge the bug, they should create their characters under your account.
