You come home from a long night out, unsexed, loaded, and not yet ready to pass out -- what do you do?
About once every couple months I find myself in this sorry state and turn to time-tested Battlefield 2. When I can't feel my teeth I find its slower, squad-based combat much easier to manage than CoD4 or CS. Long periods of trudging around the map are punctuated by frenetic, explosive violence and the strange scenarios that can only happen in a Battlefield game.
Playing cat and mouse with a T80 or taking down a Cobra helicopter with a TOW launcher are so much more entertaining when shitfaced. Once I saw a jeep covered in C4 launch off a ramp and into a fully-loaded Blackhawk, the sight of which just about fried my alcohol-addled brain.
So has anyone else found a game that booze makes that much better? Or maybe I just need an intervention.

I generally play NHL 09 when I get home from some heavy drinking. And I'm so used to that game that I have absolutely no difficulty winning even when I'm completely hammered. I tend to not wear my headset, though, so that the other players don't have to hear my drunken ramblings.

I used to love coming home hammered to play Forza 2 online.

I've never tried Expert Drums while drunk, but I imagine it just can't end well.

I play Crysis and WAR when I am doped up. Crysis Warhead is always fun when shitfaced.

Yeah, it usually ends in failure. You go in wanting to be Neal Peart, you come out sounding like Scott Phillips.

GarageBand with a USB preamp is far funnier.

Played some WAR last night with my wife, a dude named Moidebe (yeah, he knows it is spelled wrong), and Deadend while getting progressively inebriated. Hell of a lot of fun, and made the 19-20 grind pass in a blink.

Things that spring to mind are Tony Hawk 3&4, Burnout 3 (Road Rage quick events over and over), and Blitzball in FFX.

The only game I've ever spent significant time with while drunk was Rock Band. Not only was it a helluva lot more fun, but I was a lot better at it.

Guitar Hero.
I was immeasurably worse.
Because I threw up all over Stephanie in the middle of Jordan.

You weren't just playing Rock Band. You were living it.

A few years ago I played quite a bit of DoD while hammered, and more recently TF2.
The best though, was when a friend of mine worked at Borders, and he brought a life-size standup cardboard cutout of Michael Buble to our apartment. This became a knife throwing target. I also threw fondue forks into it, which was a bit safer. Nothing like getting drunk and throwing pointy things at Michael Buble!

I like TF2 when drunk, I play as a heavy, park next to a dispenser, hold down the mouse button and just spray lead at anything that moves. BF2 and BF2142 are good also, but can be a bit much with getting to the fights, TF2 is so perfectly done there is action all the time.

Go Retro, try playing Super Punch Out on Snes when you're drunk... It's an unique experience!

DoD was a great one I used to play while drunk, unfortunately the guys I'd play with were all on East Coast, so by the time I got home from the bar they'd be long gone...so I was forced to play with Random pubbers.

Rock Band.
Rock Band 2 was even nice enough to put in drun...er, "no-fail" mode.

The pre-Paradise Burnout games were the ultimate inebriated entertainment: you knew the tracks well enough to make do, but the sense of speed and crashes were continual reward!

Man I have many nostalgic moments in various inebriated states playing various games. Katamari on the PS2. How about SoC? Memories....

Yeah, that was good... except I was sober.
MMOs are good while drunk, as is Boom Blox.
Best game drunk for me is Crackdown, as I can just blow shit up.

Side note: is that game worth playing at all? I've sort of wanted to try it for a while and can get it super cheap at Gamers.

And what I really miss from 3, the quickplay option so you could jump immediately to a Road Rage event on a random track.

Boom Blox is great, and the early Mario Party games are always a solid bet for drunken party fun.
Lately, my drunken game of choice has been Catan on XBLA. No clue why.

I go right to Halo 3 online. When drunk I like to take credit for everything good that happens.

These two for me as well for some reason. Crazy fun these are with a beer or five.

Yeah, I haven't Wii'd in awhile. All my attention goes to the PS3 and 360. Last time I played the Wii was because I had a casual gamer over at my house, and I was trying to explain to him how I enjoyed the tank game (and oddly enough, the fishing game when around the right people) on Wii Play.
We played, and I only had a moderate amount of fun. I blame the person I was with.

TF2 is a brilliant drunk game.
I tend to play Pyro and rush around madly.
Or drunk Wii Sports are good; that said, the best drunk games are played with decks of cards.

This man speaks the truth. I've had loads of fun (and could write a couple books worth of stories) playing just Categories (or King's Cup - whichever you call it).

For awhile, we even had waterproof playing cards with the King's Cup rules on them. Joey and I find that it's easy (though cheap) to eliminate women by making the category "first-person shooters" or "Street Fighter characters" or other things video game related.
(Though one time, one of our guy friends lost because he forgot Gears was a third-person shooter.)
Anyway, point is, the categories part of King's Cup is fun.

Hell yes! We have the waterproof plastic see-thru cards that we use for Categories. Easiest clean up ever, and you don't have to worry about ruined cards. Plus, when you're drunk, see-thru cards seem like the coolest things ever. :)
