So I logged in just to check my auctions. I'm in Gadgetzan, in the inn. As I walk out the door, there is a Tauren Shaman in front of me.

As I step out and walk to the mailbox, he tries to click on the mailbox....and clicks on me instead. The guards made short work of him. I used /sorry to apologize - I'm sure from his angle it made me look like a dick.

Just struck me funny - "La dee da, just checking my mail, oh shit! The guards are stabbing me in the...I see. I'm dead now."

That happens to me all the time when I check my mail in real life too. It's amazing how realistic this game can be sometimes.

Hey - I had a question for any other WoW players.

I know Recruit a Friend gives you something like 3X the experience. But I saw something really weird that I didn't understand.

A guy stood by the fountain in Stormwind and loudly proclaimed that he was going to level up right there and then. Standing in the middle of the Trade District, he dinged all the way from 27 to 55. A couple passers-by mentioned, "Oh, Recruit a Friend". But don't get it - you still need to kill a mob or turn in a quest to get experience normally, right? How does the Recruit a Friend thing make it different?

With recruit a friend, you also get 1 free level for every 2 levels your friends gain for any of your characters. You can only use them up to level 60 though. So, if your friend gets to level 60, you can start a new character and level it up to 31 immediately.

But only the new account can give the veteran account lvls. Whereas the 3x xp works for both.

Is there a way to transfer characters to another account? A guildy told me you could if it was under the same name, or something.

Like, if I leveled an alt via Recruit a Friend, could I later get that alt to be part of my primary account?

Most likely yes.

The server transfer can also do accounts transfers.

Ah. Thank you, Savok. I think I shall level a Druid, then.

Savok: what is your avatar from? I know it's some PC game IIRC, but I can't remember for the life of me.

He was Tauren scum. He deserved to die.

Sure, but at my hand, not at the hands of some filthy goblin.

I learned the hard way not to fly to Booty Bay with your pet set on aggressive. ;_;

You can account transfer as long as the two accounts have the same account owner information.

Ha ha ha! oh sweet! That would have been hilarious... "here I am, flying into Booty Bay - hey wait! pet! what the hell are you? shit, the guards are here, dammit! No, I'm to young to die! argh!"

Sadly, it was more like "Haha, someone's starting a fight. What a dummy, don't they know the guards are going to rape them?"

And then "Heeey, why am I dead?"

I guess I will tell the story of how I found out why no one attacks other people on the boats.

I am questing in the Stonetalon Mountains (even though I was probably ten levels too high for the place, I like questing around lowbies and giving them buffs and stuff), and run out to the entrance that leads into the Barrens to turn in a quest to those peeps standing there. I am talking to my quest giver and then notice the other guy there starts fighting someone. I freak out, switch to cat form (I was in cheetah), and run up and start attacking this Night Elf Hunter instead of waiting to get some energy built up. I can't burst damage him and he takes me and I'm feeling pretty mad about the whole thing.

I run back out and turn in my quest and then head towards Ratchet. Once in Ratchet I go to my bank, talk to some people, and then look towards the boat because I see a yellow name. It's that damn Night Elf Hunter! I run towards the boat and get on, despite the fact that I have no interest in going to Booty Bay. I stand next to him for a second and he starts doing some buffs or something (probably changing aspect), and I'm just like "Awww shit, it's on!". So I stealth and do a big hit on him and then something quite unexpected happened.

I flew off of the boat and onto the docks where I was caught in a net and then beat to death by the Ratchet Bruisers.

I felt really, really, stupid. 8-(

You know what's funny? When the same situation happens but you're on a PVE server lol.

I'm a keep the peace kind of guy usually. When my wife played and we were out together, I would often insist we fight the Horde. But solo, and especially since I'm trying to level up more quickly, I've been settled down since I came back.

Sometimes I just can't help it - a Horde was attacking an Alliance NPC yesterday and I didn't think that was okay. So I killed him. He rezed almost instantly and came after me (hunter). The NPCs killed his pet and then him. I giggled before getting onto the flight path. It was in Un'Goro crater. It didn't occur to me that attacking him might make the guards mad at me, but apparently they were fine with it because they didn't do anything.

Not so much an oops moment at all, but it's somewhat funny nonetheless.

My buddy had convinced me to re-roll on a PvP server and against my better judgment, I did. I was leveling a Priest and was in Tanaris and for about a solid week could not do the quest involving gathering pirate hats and killing the four pirate types in that area due to an obscene amount of ganking.

Frustrated, I log off and for a good two weeks focus on my PvE toon just to take some time to cool. I eventually log back onto my PvP Priest and the second I log on I'm killed by a Blood Elf Paladin in a guild named Violent Diarrhea.

Immediately after I logged out, deleted the Priest, and have been happy ever since.

That happens to me on Quel'Danas a lot. (SSO Dailies). I'll be turning in, or getting the quest and a flagged horde will be ontop of the mob, I won't notice and slam, I'm aggro and shortly dead. Sucks!

Otherwise, I can recommend the Refer a friend thing. 3 60's outta it so far!

I sometimes hate PvP, but I couldn't play on a PvE server. Knowing there was something more hardcore out there but I was missing it would make me feel like I was missing out.

I generally hated PVP as well, but always rolled on a pvp server so as not to miss out. I finally tried the battlegrounds a little while ago, and it turns out they're awesome. It's actually sparked an interest in world PVP for me, especially between battlegrounds when I'm practically frothing at the mouth to kill some allies.
