You'll need at least $1600 (http://www.super-bowl-tickets.ticketsnow.com/?intcmp=tm003838).

Tickets are as high as $218,000 for a suite. I guess some people just aren't interested in Steelers vs Cardinals.

I love the Super Bowl. In my own home, watching it comfortably on my TV.

Holy god.

I'd rather spend that money having the best super bowl party money can buy then being at the game that you can barely see being in the nose bleeds.

for 16 hundred bucks, I'll stay at home and get a completely better seat with a 100x better view of the field.

Yeah, I'd put that $1600 towards a tv to watch the game on.

The irony is that many of the fans at these events increasingly watch the actual game on Jumbotrons. They're at the game, watching it on television. :D Even the players are often doing just that...during actual plays, as well (according to SI). That's pretty funny, actually.

I've been to virtually every famous sporting event in the U.S. that you can list, and I think watching it in the comfort of one's own home beats all but the luxury suites. If I could afford a luxury suite, that would be the way to go; best of both worlds.

Aren't all football games relatively expensive?
I believe we looked into getting Patriots tickets during one of their Super Bowl visits in the past couple years, and I remember the number $2000 being tossed around.

That's just ungodly.
I used to love going to baseball games with my dad, but that's just a bonding experience more than anything, and it was only thirty dollars.

Must be full of doctors and lawyers? :P

If you have season tickets and your team makes it to the Superbowl, are you able to go? Or do season tickets only extend through the regular season and end when the playoffs hit? I've always been curious about that and wasn't sure if that's also why Superbowl tickets ended up so high as the number of seats then became (somewhat) limited.

I can't understand why anyone would rather spend more money and see a football game live than on TV. At those prices especially so.

You have a better view of the action...from home. Maybe at one time I'd say "Going for the crowd and atmosphere" was reasonable. Not nowadays. The last major sporting event I went to (baseball game) ushers had to kick people out of our seats, the guy behind me would routinely "WOOOOO!" right in my fucking ear and someone stole my beer when I put it down. Fuck the crowds.

As home TV setups and game broadcasts get bigger and clearer, respectively, it just further eliminates the need to go there.

The only thing good about the SuperBowl is the ads anyway.
I might miss those if I went to the game.

For $218,000 I could buy a suite, fill it with projectors and huge TVS, an open bar, and have money left over to have an orgy of hookers. I guess people with that much money don't think like that. Shit, I could probably have Madden drop by for that much.

Congratulations, you are officially the only person in history to ever contemplate inviting John Madden to their hooker orgy.
