Two of my favorite Arcade style games that I still enjoy to play these days is Asteroids (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroids_(computer_game)). It has been a favorite for me since childhood. The other game is Geometry Wars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geometry_Wars). When it came out for PC I spent hours of my time playing the wonderful game. I wasn't the best nor the worst, it didn't matter how bad I did; it was fantastic. Soon after I wondered if there was any Geometry Wars clone out there for free so I hit up Google and found a game called Echoes (http://www.binaryzoo.com/games/echoes/index.htm). Echoes is a game that isn't just Geometry Wars, but it combines Asteroids as well. Instead of just plain old Asteroids where you are just that ship flying around in space shooting asteroids, there is also different types of asteroids, some really fast shooting around, some that follow you. There is a whole lot going on once you get pass the few first levels. Bigger asteroids are popping up, explosions are happening all around so be sure to keep an eye on your ship.
Echoes will for sure give you loads of entertainment for anyone who also loves Asteroids or Geometry Wars. Download it, try it out and enjoy yourself with much fun.
