To start things at the beginning you need to build a foundation for your new "retro" gaming experience and thy name be D-Fend Reloaded.

1. Download the D-Fend Reloaded program from http://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.net/Download.htmlwhere it says Default package D-Fend Reloaded 0.6.1 installer in the top left of the web page.

You can try the Vista version if you have that running, but since I'm still an "XP Guy" this is the path I'm going down.

You of course can choose a different path that the default location and if you have a separate partition for games it would be a good move to make that change. But for those who need their daily dose of "C", don't change a thing!

And you get this cool looking desktop icon to boot.

Kinda looks like one of the early versions of the Immortal Machines icons..hummm

3. Double click on the D-Fend Icon to start up the program

It starts out in a different language than English so don't have a coronary, you will not have to learn the Danish language to use this even if there is something "rotten in Denmark". Just click on the down arrow to select English or whatever you mother tongue happens to be, if listed.

And here you are, a brand new and ready to be used D-Fend Reloaded program. The next posting on this forum will be how to install a DOS game on this "nifty" program. Trust me, once you learn the ropes on this you will start looking in earnest for those "DOS only" games of old to play.

Untill next time, see you on the game grid!!
