Live Band Photography!

I'm really getting into live band photography... I'd like to get my works into publication as well.

The third and final shots are really good. I like the fourth from an artistic point of view, although it's not great from a 'look at a cool band' shot. Someone I know is really into this as well, although I can't remember his deviant page.

I have a friend who is an excellent live music photographer. He covers mainly hardcore and punk shows, so it's a different style, but he has a lot of spectacular shots.

If you can build an impressive enough portfolio, I don't know about getting photos published, but you can certainly get the attention of bands who will want you to take pictures at their shows, with monetary persuasion.

thanks guys - I don't really have a "web home" yet - so I dunno what to watermark my pics as - or even how to do it...

I just got an SLR camera but no good lenses for it.... I want to get into the "photographer's circle" in shows so I can get some really good shots - as all these are taken from the crowd.

Maybe i'll just do the "myspace" thing for a watermark...

GIMP and Photoshop and I think even the edit tool on Photobucket have built in tools for watermarking an image.

I used to know a guy who got into them. As far as I know he just sent off requests to the Promoter asking to get into the circle saying he was a freelance photographer or something. 99% of the time he got a press pass.
