Merriweather Post Pavilion

Animal Collective's newest as of this week. Metacritic is quite taken (http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/animalcollective/merriweatherpostpavilion) with it, with as 91 for 31 critic reviews, and 95 for 102 user reviews. I've listened to it thrice now, with mixed feelings. Don't like "My Girls" - the first single. "Bluish" also irks me. But "Lion in a Coma" is lovely. Anyone else give this a listen?

I've been listening to it a lot (almost non-stop in my car). I like it, though so far I think that Strawberry Jam and Feels were stronger albums. I wish that MWP had some more manic tracks, like Purple Bottle or Revered Green....instead it sounds more like a combination of Water Curses and Person Pitch. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, I guess I just wanted more variation.

That said, I did just buy my ticket for their upcoming DC show. I'm also sort of hoping they'll come back in the summer to play at the physical Merriweather Post Pavilion, since that's almost literally up the road from where I live.
