Not macs in general, but The Macintosh (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7846575.stm).

The first computer games - the first electronic games, even - that I ever played were on one of these. When I think of tetris or arkanoid, the versions for this computer are the ones that first come to mind and the versions that I compare all others against. Lode Runner, Dark Castle, and so many other good little games on so many little floppies.

People shit on them now, but back in the old days the Mac was one of the best machines to have if you were a gamer. Go dig through sites like Macintosh Garden and you find tons of awesome games. A lot of them were also on PC of course, but in many cases the Mac version was the lead version.

In my mind, Macs are still all in monochrome.

It wasn't a Macintosh, but I did so much gaming on a Apple IIe when I was younger. Good times.

I grew up with a Macintosh SE/30. Great machine, and I played a TON of games on it. SimCity, SimEarth, SimAnt, Prince of Persia, Lode Runner, Warlords - the list goes on and on.
I really need to bring it up to Minneapolis sometime. I fear what will happen to my baby if I leave it in my dad's basement for too long.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of playing Oregon Trail on the Macs in the library during my primary school days...
I didn't know what dysentery was back then, but I knew that I never wanted it.

Probably nothing. The older Macs were built like goddamn tanks. It's one of the reasons I hate Steve Jobs so much, as since he's taken over, we've had more problems with Apple hardware failure than in the entire era prior to his inglorious return with the iMac.

I'm not afraid of it not working, although I did sort of screw it up by updating the OS to a version that the computer could barely handle.
I'm more concerned with where my dad has it stored, or the fact that he's talked about taking it to the dump.
