Soon you will figure out WHY there are naked dwarfs in barrels.

My wacky way of running around that region led me to discover what they were doing there before I even started opening them. Still, it was quite funny :D

Best noob quest ever I think. It had me laughing for a while after it.

I haven't played much, but my favorite newb quest tree is slightly later, with the Orc and Gobbo shouting at each other about whether boars or wolves are better.

Or the snotlings! OMG that is a hilarious quest.

Let's just sum it up by saying the entire Orc starting region has some of the funniest moments in the game.

I'm in the dark here. I wanna play a game with naked dwarves in barrels! Is this Warhammer we're talking about?

I really also enjoyed parts of The Chosen quest chain, mainly the bits running around in the city when I was lv 9 or so, trying to drive a priest insane.

The game definitely has a fun way of mixing up the quests. Whether it's summoning a warrior priest who is (gasp) questioning his faith, just so you could kill him in the name of Chaos, or discovering why there are barrels full of naked dwarfs in a lake, the creators knew how to make the quests even slightly interesting. It's better than WoW, at least.

WoW had some fascinating storylines too, the only trouble was the quality over all varied pretty wildly. It was pretty obvious which races the devs liked most, because, frex, the Night Elf noob zone had some of the coolest storylines to it, while the Human one you get to run around playing fucking errand boy and weed killer for a bunch of fuckin' farmers (although the Romeo & Juliet esque storyline was kinda neat).

The nice thing about WAR is, even when they do just through the "Kill X mobs" storylines at you, even in the noob zones they're considerably shorter than their WoW equivalents. Plus, you know, there's the whole public quest thing, which is pretty much only rivalled in pure awesomeness by the waypoint system in Tabula Rasa.

I'm having a lot of fun with it. I have a Marauder on Red Eye named Ilyich, done up to look like some crazed naked Rasputin. I love the class, the zones are neat as hell so far, and the gameplay is just stupid fun. The only thing holding me back right now is that I don't have my own account yet, though even if I did I don't have a computer to run the game on at the moment. I just don't wanna get in too deep only to have to redo it all again later.

I'm thinking of branching out and just trying a few other classes and such, but I dunno. My PC's basically rotting on the bench at the moment and will be for the next month or so, so at the moment not having my own account isn't really a problem, because I'm still stuck playing on my roommate's machine anyway, which means no partying.

I took about 6 classes to rank 10 before I decided on one. I've seen almost every newbie quest/zone there is (except high elf). The Greenskins were far more entertaining than the rest for me. Just too funny. Skill names, zones, quests, even random NPC chatter were hilarious.

Wolves is da best cause they's for us gobbos

My favourite of all things Orc is the L8 (?) Black Orc move, "Right In Da Jibblies"

Because shrugging off everything to kick your opponent in the balls is just that awesome.
