Sam's Club has a shelf in every store dedicated to returns or floor models. I just bought a Philips 1080p HDTV (only a 32") for right around 300 bucks.

There were bigger sets, but my house ain't built for massive televisions. :(

Sam's has fairly good deals sometimes.

Wow, that's an amazing deal. I've been looking around for a HDTV and not even a 720P 32 inch is close to that price.

Addendum:
It's really hit or miss. They seem to have stuff when new televisions come out. I'd suggest going in there on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and looking for the little 'As-Is' shelf. (Note: They say 'as-is' but you still get the original manufacturer's warranty, and can buy additional coverage at the store. I guess they don't want you to return it.)

I tend to stay away from "out of the box" electronics. TV's like that have usually been sitting there as a "demo" running all day. If you factor in the fact that it has been sitting there like that for up to 6 months turned on every single day all day, it really shortens the life span of the television.

That said, $300 is stupid cheap for a 32''.

Usually in a back corner, and for the ones I have been into, near the freezers. Odd, but some good deals. Grabbed myself a Samsonite Laptop Briefcase for I think $15 off that shelf.

As far as TVs go, given how the Economy has gone, expect some insane door busters on Black Friday.

Yep, should have gone up afterward, but they might continue to drop due to the economy.

I suppose you mean deals like these:
Samsung LN46A550 46" 1080P LCD HDTV $1188 + S&H (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=941064)
LG 47LG70 47" 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV w/ ATSC/NTSC/QAM Tuner $1199, 42" $999 (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=941746)
