So, I just checked it out. And I'm loving it. The writing is very witty and it actually made me laugh a couple of times already, which is rare for a game. The bat sidekick is hilarious, and it looks very nice, music is great too.

Anyone playing this? It's really a rare Monkey island style experience which people should give a shot.

I'm at the start, and already kinda stuck a couple of times. Patience required.

I wondered when this was going to come out, and apparently it already is! Thanks for the heads up.

More than "Monkey Island Style"... I thought that it was made by ex-Lucasarts employees? How does it hold up to the new Sam & Max?

I've played S&M a tiny bit. Didn't grab me. The puzzles were too ... don't know the exact word ... random. This is way better, things make more sense, which is what makes or breaks it for me. And it's way funnier.

Might pick this up myself.

Also a big plus. I can run this on my laptop. Which really holds me back from PC gaming altogether. This works great.

I've been waiting for it to come out on Steam or something, but as of yet it seems to only be available in disc form. No stores around here are going to stock it, so if I wanted to play it, I'd have to order it online... I think I'd rather just wait for them to grow a brain and put it on Steam.

I would this kind of thing on XBLA and PSN as well. Loads more of this stuff. Penny Arcade proves it can be done. The interface is simple enough. Just a mouse.

I know only Monkey Island from hearing about it's a classic game. So a comparison to that type of humor and gameplay...Im there.

I found the website here (http://www.vampyrestory-game.com/) for more on the game and other tidbits of info.

I'm interested in this game, but I haven't even started Dracula Origin yet. Vampires were a popular theme in adventure games this year.

Is there a demo? I found one, but it doesn't work.

Isn't there a demo on the site somewhere. I just got the full version so dunno if that doesn't work.

Where do you live? I know the EBGames up in Canada stocked it, to my surprise.

Didn't see many copies at the two I went to, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a title that is going to get snatched up quickly, and they could probably order it if they are out.

I tried it out and it did look pretty good. couldn't figure out how to get the key from the gargoyle at the start of the game and after some frustration i uninstalled it only to see on gamefaqs that you can go back inside the castle... may reinstall it on the weekend.

You can get it from The Adventure Shop (http://us-adventureshop.gamesplanet.com/products/ASHAVAST?affiliate=AG) or GamersGate (http://www.gamersgate.com/index.php?page=product&what=view&sku=DD-AVS).

I downloaded the demo from GamerShell (http://www.gamershell.com/download_35998.shtml) with no troubles.

Like I said, patience required. I played a full afternoon of this now. And I seems I always get stuck, I walk around a bit, trying different things and than suddenly I do something I didn't do before and I'm on my way again. It's a bit of trial and error with these games at times but it does make sense when you see the solution. You really have to seek out every little corner to find some stuff.
