Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone had ever tried Switchblade (http://www.switchbladegaming.com/)?
For those of you who don't know, it's an app that lets you map functions onto an Xbox 360 controller for the PC. I am wondering if it is any good because I don't always want to play hunched over my keyboard and mouse. Sitting back with a controller would be nice. I know a lot of Games For Windows games now support it but for those that don't this seems pretty cool.
I would try it personally but I am still waiting for my video card to come in.
EDIT: I just noticed I named it all PC games but that's not true. Switchblade only supports the following games.
Call of Duty® 4
Call of Duty® 2
Counter Strike™: Source™
World of Warcraft®
Guild Wars®
Hellgate™: London
Half-Life® 2

Sounds interesting. I'd love to try it with WoW just to see how it manages to handle all the possible key combos.
I feel sorry for whomever bought this to use with Hellgate. Suckers.

Use Xpadder. Works with everything out there.

I'll give it a try once my replacement video card comes in. Thanks!

You would get devastated in multiplayer if you went with a gamepad against people on mouse and keyboard. That's what's always turned me off to this.

Even the Witcher?

And not just for the usual M&K vs. gamepad reasons either. Any software of this nature introduces a certain inherent lag in response as it has to translate one form of data into another. It's a very inefficient method of control.

Oh I know, I'm not looking to play multiplayer with it. Just single player when I am too lazy to hunch over the m/kb.

I've been playing around with this program for Warhammer Online. It's kinda fun and works, but takes time to get used to. In huge battles though I don't know if I would use it, although I might give it a shot.

I don't like using my 360 to play FPS games, but I love using the pad for games like Ultimate Alliance on my PC. I'll have to try these things out for Hellgate, etc.... maybe even Fallout.... XD

Most of thes don't even need a freakin' gamepad. A 360 controller support for something Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which had a borked support from the start. Goddammit I am not buying another pad for the best version of the game.

Why would you ever want to play any of those games with a controller on a PC? Especially the RPGs with all of the necessary hotkeys.
I can almost see for the shooters, I used one before Laser and Optical mice really became affordable, ball mice were horrid.

For me at least it's fun just to goof around with it to see what can be done with it. It was by no means better than a mouse and a keyboard, but there was something fun about trying to use a 360 controler to play Warhammer. :D

Sometimes I just don't want to hunch over the mouse and keyboard. It's not like I'm going to be doing any competitive gaming on this. It's more for the long gaming sessions so I can be relaxed and comfortable.
