This week, on the precocious Johnny Gigawatt and the Tiger Men from Mars (http://johnnygigawatt.com/): Who legislates the Watchmen, "Superheroic Decadence" and the heavies in Iron Man 2. As usual you can join the discussion by clicking here (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?p=145239), and for a peek at what you'll find in your store this week, head over to Diamond (http://previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=2&m=1&c=6&s=428).

Picks of the Week

Final Crisis #6 - Fact: Final Crisis has been late as hell. As laid out by the original schedule the series was supposed to have ended late last month. Fact: this issue will have three different pencillers (JG Jones, Carlos Pacheco, Marco Rudy), with a fourth (Doug Mahnke) drawing the finale (scheduled for just two weeks from now). Opinion: Final Crisis has been improving steadily since a weak debut, and all of the tie-ins to date have been great. I'm not sure how history will regard this series (remember for all the kvetching about Civil War's delays, it was forgotten as soon as the last issue hit) but so far I've enjoyed the ride.

Amazing Spider-Man #583 - Get 'em while they're hot! Spidey teams up with Obama! You may be out of luck if you're looking to snag this issue (unless your LCS is already pulling it). But, on the other hand, it could end up as a speculator's special. By the way, Obama is only in a back-up feature, while the main story is by the great team of Mark Waid and Barry Kitson.

GI Joe #1 - I know, I know. Another licensed comic. But IDW has been hitting them out of the park as of late, and this one looks like another winner. Rather than stick with the nearly 25 years of continuity IDW has wisely decided to reboot the property. This is one of three Joe books debuting in the coming months (the others being Larry Hama's GI Joe: Origins and Christos Gage's Cobra) but should be considered the 'main' book of the line.

Question of the Week - Some fireworks this week as Bill Willingham penned an essay which produced (http://johnnygigawatt.com/?p=498)...let's be kind and call it a fierce reaction. People on both sides of the political spectrum weighed in on the Fables creator's op/ed (the comments on Robot 6 (http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2009/01/willingham-no-more-superhero-decadence-for-me/) were particularly fierce). That brings us to this week's question: Have you even been offended by a political message or polemic in a comic?
