There is a new video interview over at IGN called Everyday Life In Albion (http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/741361/fable-2/videos/fable2_EverydayLifeInAlbion_100208.html). It covers some of the underlying simulations running in the back ground. These simulations can be affected by the player to do things like change the economy.
The more I find out is in the game, not just promised, the more excited I get for it. It seems as if we will actually be getting what Peter promised Fable was going to be. I'm looking forward to seeing how different I can make the world with different charters.
There are 45,000 lines of recorded dialog. That makes me happy because I was getting so sick of hearing the same stuff over and over in Too Human. I wander what will be heard when I propose to another woman in front of my current wife.
This will be the first game in a long while that will get my wife playing.

Not to attack you, but I've never understood why people just attack Molyneux whenever they can over his "promises not being fulfilled." I'd much rather have a designer who is trying his ass off to give me something new and incredible and fall a bit short than to just stay the course.
This isn't you, but some gamers just act like he raped their kitten or something.

And kitten rape is a very bad thing.

Gamers like people in the general population like to complain...about everything sometimes. So the complaints about Fable 1...meh...it's their opinion. I thought it mighty silly personally. If you didn't like the game for it's merits...so be it again. This game looks amazing...to bad I have a significant other that won't let me play it till next April...

I couldn't agree more. All other developers should use people like Molyneux as an example. Yes, you man come up short, but at least you tried.

Well, to be fair to those people, "underpromise and overdeliver" is a staple of PR, marketing, and sales. No one ever wants to underdeliver because psychologically people do feel they've been cheated even if the resulting product is above the standard of competition.

I never felt "cheated" in Fable 1...what ruined the game for me was the football field size map areas. It really hurt the flow of the game for me...it made what would have otherwise been a fairly epic world seem very, very small and artificial.

But can I single handedly ruin the economy and then have everyone pay to bail me out? :p
I kid. This looks really good.

I'm excited for this, for damn sure. But my 360 is at home, and my money, if I could be said to have any, certainly isn't in my wallet, so this will wait until Christmas.

I bashed Molyneux because he hasn't delivered a genuinly fun game since Dungeon Keeper 2. I hope that has changed with Fable 2, and I'm buying it based on the hands-on experiences people have had with it.

And that's a much more valid reason than "OMG THE TREES DONT ACTUALLY AGE IN REAL TIME" or whatever.

He actually said 45,000 lines of dialog in that interview. It'll certainly be a nice change of pace for me from the 45 lines of dialog in Mercenaries 2.

Every time a new piece of news comes out for this game, I get even more impressed. I am so pumped for Fable 2.

I must be trying to get through life asap. :(
I'm so hyped for this game, and unless there is some fundamental flaw with the combat I don't foresee being disappointed at all.

Oh no you didn't!
I wonder how much of Albion will look the same. Like landmarkish areas.

I wonder how much of Albion will look the same. Like landmarkish areas.I was wondering the same thing. But even more than just to see how differently modified areas look with the landmarks. I'm curiouse to see if there will be different land marks depending on what you do or even none at all.

I've never held it against Molyneux for promising more than he could deliver with Fable. I have treated every bit of news about Fable 2 with severe skepticism and ignored everything coming out of Molyneux's mouth. Luckily, it's turning out really well. The more I hear about what's actually in the game, the more excited I am for it's release.

Well it's like 400 years later right. A destroyed landmark or something grand would be nice.

He said in some interview (I forget where, maybe on G4) that there would be all sorts of references to the first game, some really obvious, some not so much. That's kinda cool.
But, as I'm playing through Lost Chapters right now, if there is a fist fighter's club that has as poor programing (punches not registering, etc) in the second one, I'm flying to Lionhead to punch one of them in the face. I spent an entire afternoon trying to beat the chieftan for a fucking trophy I won't even use.

That was my only really gripe with the first one; all the areas felt very contained and overtly linear. I have the same feelings with games like KotOR too. Each "planet" was nothing more than a walled in field with a single town. Give me a little elbow room to roam and discover. I'm not talking Oblivion/Dungeon Siege sized, but more than a labyrinth design.
When it comes to Fable though, I have far less concern with things like being able to carve my name in a tree and see it there on the same tree 25 years later (in the game's timeline). That type of stuff, while neat if pulled off (as was initially promised with Fable1) in the long run is pointless to my enjoyment to the game so I don't really care if it ends up dropped from the final product.

I finally got around to watching this video, and it was awesome. ^_^ Thankfully, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is coming out the same day so there will be something to keep Kats busy for a few days. I'll be able to play on the 360 unhindered by requests to use the TV.

Apparently, one of the towns from the first one is in the game and has sunk over time to now be mostly under a swamp.
