View Full Version : Help: Remote Desktop Mobile, WM 6.1
I think my title says it all. I'm trying to get it to work with my WM 6.1 device, but I keep getting an error. Does anyone know how to set this up properly? I'm not sure what I'm missing here...
I enable Remote access on my device
I make sure I'm added as a remote user
I get my local and gateway IP address from IPCONFIG
Go to the device put in the local IP, username, password then click connect....
I get nothing every time...
Please help

What OS is the desktop you are running and what error are you getting? Is your desktop behind any type of firewall? Are you running it through a router?
I'm running Vista 32 Business. The error that I get on my ppc says, "cannot connect. Likely reasons are:
1. remote computer is not set up
2. reached max connections
3. network error occured while connecting
My pc connects to the net via a 2 wire gateway.
How come theses things don't come with instructions :(
Thank you though

I have very little experience with RDP outside of Norton's products and Linux implementations (not to mention I have 0 experience with using it on a WinMo device). From the error it basically seems as though your WinMo device simply isn't seeing the desktop at all. Are you trying to do this through your phones connection or through Wifi? If you are trying it through 3G or whatever give it a try on your home's wifi (if you have it available). Sorry I can't be of more help but my knowledge on the subject is limited at best.
