1up.fm, the recently killed podcast (after UGO bought 1up.com and went on a firing-spree,) that featured this community's favorite 1up-er, Phil 'Kefkataran' Kollar, has now been supplanted in spirit by Rebel.fm (http://www.eat-sleep-game.com/news/2009/01/08/as-promised-episode-1-of-rebelfm/), the first episode of which has been uploaded to the net!Won’t you please welcome Anthony Gallegos, Nick Suttner, Philip Kollar, Matt Chandronait, Ryan O’Donnell, Jade Kraus, and me, as we bring you the opening salvo of Rebel.fm. It’s on, bitches.

Well, the site is old and up until a couple of days ago was rarely ever used for anything. We'll have to get Phil to update that. :)

I think this would be a good time to start listening if you're on the fence. New podcast (who knows who the regular cast will be in a few weeks) so there is no history to catch up on. They talk a lot about the 1UP thing, then cover what all good gaming podcasts should, what ya been playing?

Yeah, he's still around and has a few posts, but he definitely doesn't post as frequently as he used to, and I'm pretty sure that's just 'cause he's really busy. He's still Kefkataran. Though I think now it's KefkaTaran. :)

I was a fan of the "G" man myself, Shane always let his Fanboy colors fly a bit much for me. I am happy these guys got something running but I just don't find these guys that appealing. I am super happy they found something though and which them a ton of luck.

I've never met him, and I'd like to, but the impression that I got is that Shane went into PS3 fanboy mode to counter Luke Smith going into 360 fanboy mode. After Luke left, you didn't often hear him defend Sony's ridiculous decisions (outside of the Home debacle). He became more balanced in his approach, which I'd guess reflects his true character better. Anyway, like I said, I've never met the guy.

I'll have to listen to Rebel.fm tomorrow, but has anyone found any other good podcasts for gaming news? (Other than the awesome CoG homebrew ones, of course.)

Go go Kefk, also it's to bad about 1up. They were the only "corporate" gamesite I ever visited. Guess that will probably change, as I don't see how firing a bunch of people who were the reason I went there will make it better.

Seconded. GWJ is 2nd on my priority to-listen list right after In Game Chat. Every time a new episode comes out I try to listen the next day. Great show every week by a fantastic crew.
