Story Saturdays!

Two weeks ago, I was thinking about how I might make better use of my blog space here, and decided to start posting some short stories. Weekends are always a dead time for gaming news, and I thought that offering some reading on Saturday afternoon might liven the place up a bit. So far, I seem to have garnered a readership of 1... but that's better than nothing, right?

In that spirit, I'd like to invite all of the many writers here to post your own shorts as well. I think it would be cool to make a regular Saturday event of it, if y'all are willing. No rules, no contest, no format. Just post whatever you've got to your blog, preferably with Story Saturday in the title. These shorts can be stories, or snippets, or even concepts if that pleases you.

Anyway... just an idea. Thought it might be fun, and could give us a little feedback that we wouldn't otherwise get while also adding some content to the site for the weekend.

I may be a few days late, but my blog has a new addition (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/blog.php?b=632). I would love feedback on if the humor works or not.

As for the blog in general, I have been doing a running Incoherent Babbling article. I end up doing some fan fiction and then using an aspect from the game as the topic for the article afterwards.

I've missed Saturday by a couple of hours, but in my blog I posted an excerpt - the first 500 words or so - of a project my friend and I are working on. (I apologize that it's not a complete story, but I don't know if she'd want me to post her work.)

Anyway, I'd like to know if it's hopelessly overwrought and maudlin. Criticism welcome/desired. :)
