Or at least the most Animal Friendly Video Game (http://www.peta.org/feat/proggy/6th/?c=p6apgb08#winnerDetails). Contributing factors are purity and attractive points earned through eating a vegetarian diet (balanced by meat-eating heroes earning fatness and corruption points) and a "strong pro-vegetarian theme... [that] teaches gamers the real-life benefits of a vegetarian diet."
I'm not sure if that's particularly what Lionhead had in mind when crafting the game, but since one of the points is to create your own narrative, I suppose it works. Interestingly, no mention of the dog, but I'd be surprised if it didn't play a role in the decision, considering at the very least the ending of the game.

PETA supports chicken kicking and fluffy bunny rabbit shooting. Also the eating of baby chicks.

I thought about posting this as news, but I've had about all the PETA-related crap I can take right about now.
Yes, I have a PETA sticker on my truck. Yes, I support animal rights. Yes, I'm probably a wee bit 'touched.' However, PETA supporters are not all raving militant tubes.

I hope that didn't come across in my post, I was just poking a little fun. I support many of PETA's causes, but I also eat meat and wear clothes made from animal skin, so I'm not really that much of a supporter I guess.
On a serious note, I thought PETA hated pet ownership? I saw awards for best animal toy and best dog treat, so I'm a little confused.
Oh, and to be fair, I think all the anti-animal antics in Fable II earn you evil points, so that's why they like it. Except maybe chicken kicking, which is always a good idea. ;)

No, you are "touched" for other reasons, nothing to do with you belonging to PETA ;)
I think it belongs in news, so i'm lobbying it to go there :). And i'll stand by you. I support PETA.

Not at all - just getting my tuppence worth in before the inevitable.

It's not pet ownership they are against, it's feline and canine farms. Places like Pet Smart, Pet Co and Pet Supermarket get their cats, etc. from farms. I'd never get a cat from there. The three cats I had when I lived with my wife were all rescued, which is the way PETA would prefer it.

I thought about moving this there, but it's a little too opinionated for my tastes.

Oh, that makes more sense. I got my Corgi/Jack Russel/Probably Something Else from a shelter, so I'm there with you.

Tell Dr Finger to rewrite and post his own, I was just having fun.
EDIT: Actually, I'll do it, but I can't do anything about the title.

Actually they are (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081208190017AAhBnGB).
I would rant a bit, but any one who has ever seen one of my posts about PETA knows that I hate the entire organization, so it seems unnecessary.

Which is retarded, as the modern "dog" was pretty much created by humans from wolves, and is happiest by far in a home.

Interesting, that. The Pet Smart, Petcetera, and whatever else here only have cats from the SPCA shelters, and none of them sell dogs. They charge for them, of course, but that usually worth it considering they've all been checked out thoroughly by Vets and are quite healthy.

Indeed, the same with other animals like cats.
I never really got what animals would get out of "being released" besides a harder life or death. Animal Rights groups that have released minks from their farms here in Denmark have pretty much doomed the local ecology and the mink, as the mink aren't used to living in nature and the local ecology isn't equipped to handle so many minks.

The Pet Smarts here do that as well. The only animals they actually sell are fish and hamsters/gerbils, they may have lizards and such but I never go to that side of the store. Cats and dogs are all done via local rescues and shelters which will set up shop in the store on the weekends.

My understanding is that only small shops buy from Puppy Mills and the like.
And Fitbabits, I would get rid of that PETA sticker not because you don't care about animals, but because they're one of the most disingenuous organizations on the planet. They lie constantly and have extremist animal rights views, often putting humans far BELOW animals, when I can't understand a belief set that doesn't have them as at least equals. They're an organization dedicated to hate, not to animals.

You learn something new every day...
Time to retire my PETA sticker and replace it with an ASPCA one.

I fully support this decision. What I've seen of the ASPCA is pretty cool. I think they still have SOME craziness, but considering the high correlation between owning large numbers of cats and being nuts, it makes sense. :)

I wonder what PETA would think of my Evil character Baron von Chickenpunter? I kicked a chicken SO HARD it launched from the parapet at the beginning and down into the city below.
Yes, truly Fable and Fable II is a triumph for animal rights. Oh, and the fact you can eat live baby chickens probably didn't make their radar. Or the fact that you get to CHOOSE to do what you want.
PETA kills animals. Humanely, yes. But they put as many animals to death as your local humane society in terms of what they bring in to 'rescue'.
Also, they ARE against animal testing. Speaking on behalf of my deceased aunt who had diabetes until the day she died, I kind of like the fact she used insulin.
Don't be dicks to animals, but don't forsake humans for the sake of an animal's comfort. Also, I eat meat.
And I can appreciate the vegetarian ideal, but the logic behind it is a little foggy for me. You kill by being alive, people. Just because they're single celled does not make them any less alive, you know. Every time you wash your hands, you put to death organisms that may or may not have done you any harm.
Most things in the world disrupt nature in some way in the delivery to humans. To the birds displaced for the paper I use to draw my comics, all the way to the movies we watch being made of (partially) horse products. Oh, sent a letter lately? The mucilage in the envelope you licked was some unfortunate horse's hooves.
So, like I said. You're better off being responsible for yourself, and not forming a big ass club that takes in money to tell me what to do with myself.
I love people. I love animals. But if I had to make a choice between all of the spotted owls in the world or 1 person, I'd pick the human every time. Only we could be dumb enough to try and buck evolution, the food chain, and natural selection by caring about the prey animals.
No wonder there are so many lion attacks. :)

Did either one of you actually read the the link?
It says right in the link that PETA is NOT in support of domesticated animals being turned loose to run wild, because they would not survive. It also says that these animals depend on us for care, because that is how we've bred them.
Don't let the facts get in the way of the bashing, however.
I am not a PETA supporter, but you guys are twisting the facts.
It should also decrease your strength and HP. I said it.
Because all vegans and vegetarians are wimps? That's total bull.
As far as "HP" goes, are you trying to suggest that eating meat leads to a longer lifespan?

I wouldn't argue one way or the other, but it's fairly well understood by nutitionists that a vegetarian diet, especially a vegan diet, required a slot more work if one wants to maintain one's health.
Omnivorous diets are more EFFICIENT from a biological standpoint, but not healthier.
I just can't stand any group that has, more than once, tried to take advantage of local/national tragedies to push their own message. Pricks.

I don't know about Pet Smart, but Petco doesn't sell dogs or cats. They have cats there for adoption that local rescue agencies bring in and care for. Even the smaller animals like guinea pigs, Petco will suggest that the potential buyer adopt one and refer them to the correct agency.
