Sorry if this topic has already been done.
Last year was probably one of my best gaming years in sometime. I can't believe how many I was able to finish. Here is my list, how about you?
Xbox 360
Assassin's Creed
Call of Duty 4
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Ninja Gaiden 2
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Gears of War 2
Fallout 3
Mass Effect
Rock Band 2 (perpetual)
Playstation (all played on a 60GB PS3)
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
God of War
God of War 2
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2
Metal Gear Solid 3
Metal Gear Solid 4
Wii
Zelda: Twilight Princess
PC
Sadly, nothing other than casual games like Peggle. Although I have spent hundreds on Steam but played very little. I keep going back to the consoles.
XBLA/PSN/VC
I don't know that I actually "finished" anything but I played a bunch.
PSP/DS
God of War: Chains of Olympus

I've been thinking of posting something like this, especially since I've been making a new effort in finishing games. For me:
Brave Story: New Traveler
Crackdown
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Disgaea 2
God of War: Chains of Olympus
LittleBigPlanet
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Resistance 2
Star Ocean: First Departure
Super Mario Galaxy
Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow
Uncharted
Wild ARMs XF
I'm close with Bioshock, Crush, Disgaea 3, Gurumin, Metal Gear Solid 3, Patapon, Valkyria Chronicles, and Zack & Wiki.
And I don't think it counts as "finishing" anything, but in FFXI I leveled Scholar from 1 to 75 (the level cap) and finished off Beastmaster from 60 to 75, as well as doing a shitload of missions.
I just started Chrono Trigger, Motorstorm, and Zelda: Twilight Princess
Dark Prince

I'm probably the master of unfinished games still lying in my drawer. Only completing a few I feel so ashamed of myself. Here's ones I have finished though...getting all the achievements/trophies is another story all together.
I've made it my mission this year that I will complete games no matter what, even when new releases will tempt me. Whatever I get and what I already have will be completed, achievements and all.
Xbox360
- Gears of War/ Gears of War 2
- Call of Duty 4
- Quantum of Solace
- Mirror's Edge
- Guitar Hero: World Tour (always an ongoing game)
Playstation 3
- None yet. :(
Nintendo Wii
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Lost Winds
Handhelds
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7
Some Random Arcade/PSN games...
Games I still need to finish....
Fable II
Fallout 3
Don't get me started on Metal Gear Solid 4
Rock Band 2 (Though like World Tour, not one of those games you can really complete, always ongoing especially with DLC)
Mass Effect
Meg Man 9 (this is a bitch!)
Chrono Trigger
LittleBigPlanet
All the God of War's
Wow, do I need to get to work...
Wraith
01-05-2009, 01:01 PM
Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One (PC)
What?

Really...Not sure what games I've finished this year...I know it's few and far between though :(
360:
Rainbow Six Vegas: 2
Kane & Lynch
COD4
Conan
...and that would be it.
Though, I am getting close to finishing Dragon Quest IV for the DS ;)
I have a ton of nearly finished games. I may choose a month to try and finish those, or make it a goal to finish one of my backlog games a month :)

OK, does this mean completing games, or just being finished with them? Because I think I was finished with more games than I beat last year.
And I just beat the new Call of Duty and that game sucks out loud.

I consider a game "finished" when you complete the main story line / credit's roll. I don't think you need to have all side quests, achievements / trophies done before it's finished. If that was the case I would have none finished.
Troggles
01-05-2009, 01:53 PM
Fable 2
Gears of War 2
Call of Duty 4
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (finished single player and unlocked all chars and stages)
Sadly that's all I can remember.

Halo 3
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Army of Two
Call of Duty 4
Gears of War 2
Call of Duty: World at War
... Wow, why are they all shooters? There might be more that I can't think of. Oh.
LittleBigPlanet
I also saw all of Metal Gear Solid 4 completed.

And I just beat the new Call of Duty and that game sucks out loud.
You know, I played the first couple of levels and went "meh"...and threw it on the backlog.
Then I fired it up for some split-screen co-op and my buddy and I stormed through the first 3 levels having a blast. Much better game while co-op-ing.

360 to completion (based on my gamertag)
Far Cry 2
Gears 2
Kingdom for Keflings
Fallout 3 (thrice)
Braid
Fable 2
Mercenaries 2
Turok
Too Human (level cap / epic suit)
Battlefield Bad Company
GTA IV
C&C3 Kane's Wrath
Civ Rev (not sure if this counts, beat it multiple times obviously)
Viking (so underrated)
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (co-op only)
Army of Two (co-op only)
Dark Sector
Condemned 2
Devil May Cry 4
Seems like there should be more.. I guess I played a lot of COD4 online and recently a lot of Left 4 Dead. Also some of those were 100+ hour time sinks. I'm looking at you Too Human and Fallout 3.
Superman's Dead
01-05-2009, 06:46 PM
Woo! More than I thought.
360:
Bioshock
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam
Timeshift
Mass Effect
Dynasty Warriors 6
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Call of Duty 5
Far Cry 2
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
KingGorilla

Most of the shit I play has no real end-game. One does not really "beat" Sins of a Solar Empire or Company of Heroes. But I did another run through Half-Life 2, Episode 1, and Episode 2(preparing for another in the ensuing months). Penumbra Black Plague, Penumbra Requiem. Sam and Max season 2 wrapped up, the final two episodes were epic. I begrudgingly got to the end of Condemned 2, Uncharted, and Fallout 3. I polished off the way more fun than it had any right to be, Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction. Every moment of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition was pure joy and magic.

Fable 2
Soul Calibur 4 (duh)
Braid
Castle Crashers
DMC 4
MGS4
Half Life 2, Ep 1, Ep 2
Uncharted
That's it I think
Still need to finish Lost Odyssey (final bits in JRPG's never get done for some stupid reason), Fallout 3 (just too much fun to get on with it), Disgaea 3, Gears 2, GTA4, etc.
Purple Santa

Uncharted
The World Ends With You
GoW: CoO
GTA IV
Dead Space
Prince of Persia
Silent Hill Origins
Civilization Revolution (as much as the game allows you to finish :))
I might be missing one or two but that's it. I think that's the most i've ever finished in a year. I hate to see my list of unfinished since I rent a lot of games.
Edit: GH II and GH III...as much as there is an "end" to those games

I finished a total of 13 games in 2008. That's slightly more than a game a month! Now I just have to finish the rest of my backlog. It's something like 15 games long. Shit, I probably won't be done until 2010.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows
Final Fantasy 1
Final Fantasy IV
Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Metroid Prime
Psychonauts
Super Paper Mario
Warcraft 3
Assassin's Creed
Fallout 3
Crysis
Prince of Persia
EDIT: I guess technically I've gone through all of Left 4 Dead's campaigns so I finished that too.

Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episodes 1 & 2
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Pokemon Diamond
Chrono Trigger DS
Fallout 3
Need For Speed: Carbon
GodDAMN, WHY THE HELL CAN'T I STOP PLAYING CARBON?!?! I have beaten the living CRAP out of that game, and yet I still insist on playing it. Haven't beaten the final boss with every car, yet, nor have I gotten some of the reward cards that require you to put serious time into one file. I have had the game for about six months, and I'm capable of beating it in one long sitting, but I still play it. Go figure. I need to go find another good racing game. NFS: Underground is out (I don't want SecuROM on my computer), so I'm kind of thinking Grid...

Curse Of Monkey Island
Where on Earth did you find this? I have been looking for that game for YEARS, without success. I played the demo when I was 8, thought it was hilarious, but never got to play the full version. Please tell me where you found this.

I've got two copies laying around. One is set aside for my daughter. I did see a copy at Half-Price Books in Seattle a couple of months ago. Gotta keep your eyes open!
Yes, it is hilarious!
Guybrush: "'Haggis.' That's an unusual name."
Haggis: "I suppose it is, but 'Haggis' is just a nickname. Me given name is Heart Liver and Kidneys Boiled in the Stomach of the Animal McMutton."
Guybrush: "Oh, so your parents were expecting a girl."
Haggis: "Aye."

Great thing about the 360 is I can pull up my Gamercard and see exactly what 360 games I finished...
Puzzle Quest
Crackdown
Undertow
Lost: Via Domus
Assassin's Creed
Bionic Commando Rearmed
Guitar Hero Aerosmith
Guitar Hero World Tour
Rock Band 2 (like you can ever really finish that)
DDR Universe 3
Culdcept Saga
Braid
Doritos Dash of De-suck-tion
Geometry Wars 2 (when you beat Sequence, you beat it, I say)
Mega Man 9
Too Human (co-op is fun, single player blows hard)
Rock Revolution (perfectly acceptable as a budget game, which it is now)
Plus a few DS games (Final Fantasy 3 comes to mind) and the first two Dragon Warrior (Quest) games on the GBC.

heh, in thinking about it, I now realize that I did not "finish" any games last year. Spent (what I consider) a lot of time playing games, but never finished one.
