As of today. (http://angledwhiteboards.com/2008/12/18/new-this-week-paused-game-edition/)

Sounds like their buyout with Metaboli is finally starting to pay off. THat is a way higher calibre of game than I'm used to seeing on Gametap.

The week before was apparently S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which apparently some people like too.

DoW has been on Gametap since 12/12 or so.

THe 18th actually. I didn't pay attention to the dates on the blog to realize they haven't done a new release since, and I haven't been watchign it for some time.

EDIT: Apparently too, Angled Whiteboards isn't being updated anymore. THe actual new releases this week are Syberia and Zombie Shooter.

Also, DoW: Dark Crusade is apparently coming to GT soon as well.

great, oh wait, gametap still doesn't work on 64 bit systems, useless.

Yeah 64 bit systems are pretty useless right now.

But I wonder if Metaboli will get more new content onto Gametap. It seemed that outside of Codemasters and Telltale, Gametap could not snag much day one content.

Okay...I just signed up for GameTap. First month is $0.99. Lots of great games, it seems like, on the service...

What are the disadvantages of this service? Are there any? At $10 a month...seems like one can save a decent amount of money on games. Though, I suppose there aren't a lot of brand new games, but there are plenty of recent ones...and older emulated ones that I used to love.

The main disadvantage to Gametap is just that they were having some finanical and contract issues prior to the Metaboli buyout that meant they weren't getting a lot of decent new games.

They seem to be slowly working on improving their releases however, with some genuinely triple-A titles hitting lately and down the line.

The only downside that I've found is that I simply don't have enough time to play all the games I actually own, let alone the ones on Gametap.

That seems to be the downside I'm encountering. Every time I scroll through their list, I go "I need that one and that one and that one..."

Though, I did find a real downside to Gametap. They cannot distribute Sierra games to Canadians...this means we miss out on a lot of good games...including Planescape Torment and the Baldur's Gates :(

That is pretty awesome. That is one of my favorite RTS games ever.

As for GameTap: Really? Still no 64-bit support? Bah.
