Not trying to be critical- I know the site is still under heavy development, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of news items happening.
Are there not enough users submitting news, or perhaps not enough editors? Possibly not enough staff in different time zones to approve submissions?

Perhaps time zones plays a part. I haven't seen any news submissions yet this morning though to approve. I notice the "groove" of stories come out in the middle of the day, we're not early risers on staff I'd imagine. ;)
Also, we try to pick stories of interest to write up about, not just be an aggregate.

Frankly because of a long night I didn't get out of bed until 8, so news was a little slow this morning.
Also, in my experience unless there's a conference or something the news tails off dramatically after about 2 EST.

It actually doesn't seem possible to submit news right now. I tried yesterday and it gave me a message saying I didn't have access when I clicked the "New Thread" button.

There's something wrong with this site if Gorvi can't post news :) Make it happen!

Thanks for that, Ten19. I had not clicked that link yet, but now I know that is a very useful page.

Agreed, perhaps the powers that be might be able to think of another way or two to put that link somewhere in addition to just the front page? Maybe work it into the top bar? Hmm...

Hmm. Useful...
You know what would be super awsome? If you could have those displayed on the main page.
Even better? If each user had an option in their control panel to say what they wanted to see (PC gaming, reviews, comics, etc), and news items from those sites would appear on the main page.
So basically CoG really would act like the hub, allowing you to browse all the other sites according to your interest...

*scratches head*
So, why don't you'd rather have an RSS feed (which is already available separately and you can view it in tons of apps) on the front instead of higher quality write ups linking you to sourced stories on the front page? Even though you have RSS feeds for each section that you want to get that info for? Yeah....not sure if that would happen.
As for the control panel thing though, it's something we'll discuss.

I move around a lot and use several PCs dring the day. Many are work PCs, and I can't really go around installing or setting up stuff. Popping in to a site to check news, no problem. Installing an RSS reader and configuring it? Not really practical.

I was assuming stuff on the main page would be displayed in a nicely formatted way, rather than just the little snippet. Basically, CoG would display the news items from all the other sites.
I want one website that lets me see the news. A big button labeled "easy" is optional. ;)

I like their documents and calendar features as well.
