Ok, so I've been having this problem with iTunes for a while now. Every time I burn new CDs into my library and use them for my ipod the song "scratches" at certain times and I'm like "WTF!?".

I don't get it, isn't this not supposed to happen, does anyone know what I'm talking about and can possibly help?

It's to promote the iTunes store ^_~.

Honestly, though, I've never had the problem, but it might be worth mentioning that I don't ever upgrade iTunes.

I've had this happen...I contacted them and they refunded my money.

Maybe that's my mistake? I just don't get it though, I uploaded a new Modest Mouse cd I bought today and went to upload it my ipod touch and started listening to it only to hear this "scratching" from listening to it on itunes and my ipod.

Why, Apple, Why? :(

You're talking about ripping an Audio CD using iTunes, then syncing the ripped audio tracks from iTunes to an iPod?

Did you look through the Import Settings in iTunes? What encoding and bitrate are you using? Did you try checking "Use error correction when reading Audio CDs"?

Does it make the same noise when you play the song back in iTunes (or another media player) on your PC, over the speakers?

I know this issue...there's a fix...

Under Preferences | General | Import settings, have you tried to check the box "Use error correction"?

I know my brother ran into this issue and I'm just trying to track him down to solve this issue.

Don't use itunes to rip CDs. Try using Foobar(with LAME) or Win AMP>

Well, so far I haven't had that much of a problem with itunes that I would just switch on over to another media player. I'm pretty set with itunes. Winamp would be my second option though.

Also, so far I fixed the import settings and the song scratching seems doesn't seem to be much of a problem anymore.
