View Full Version : The secret Wendys burger

nixpayn

So about 6 months ago, a friend told me about this secret burger at Wendys. At first, i was suspect. Then i went in and asked about it.. and the first attendant had never heard of it.

So they asked, and the second person knew and rung it up - tho i opted not to order.

Now, today is new years eve. I plan on getting a little sloppy tonight, so i figured what better way to say goodbye to this rather upsetting year than with a lunch that will probably kill me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, i present to you - the Grand Slam.

So, it is kind of like a lamer version of the 4x4 at In N Out?

Quadruple bypass burger. Don't forget to wash it down with a Diet Coke.

I am pretty sure that is on the menu. My friend buys them all the time, and says they give him the "meatslows."

Meatslows is a gross word.

calories or price?

calories i have no idea. I'm gonna bet at least 800-1000. There was a lot of cheese.... $10 for the burger + fries, and the beer was from my fridge.

Well according to Wendy's website, a double with cheese is 700 calories, so I'd say 1400 calories is a pretty good bet for that monster. You're also looking at about 34g of saturated fat (170% your daily value) and 3100mg of sodium (130% your daily recommended intake)

I bet our fast food chains dial down on the mega meals normally common place in the US when they open in other countries. We're all so damned fat, they just expect us to gobble up heart stopping burgers with 16 patties, topped with bacon and onion rings. I doubt they expect to sell meals like that in most other countries.

So yeah, the burger looks disgusting, delicious, obscene, etc... But I'm curious about the drink. I've never seen anything called Steam Whistle before. Alcoholic beverage or something else? It's the sort of thing I would try just because I like the way the bottle looks.

Steam Whistle is a micro brewery located in toronto that is not so micro anymore, when compaired with other micro brewery's.

they make a mighty fine brew that nobody would be ashamed of drinking, and it also comes in a box shaped like a briefcase which makes it even more awesomer

I believe A&W also makes something like this, but I forget the name. I went by a girlfriends place years ago and her brother just came back from A&W and I noticed that the foil wrap that they usually place the burger in was 4 of them opened up and taped together.

Eitherway, it was a 6 patty extravaganza, with cheese & bacon between both layers.

Yeah I know what you mean. It isn't exactly a burger anymore. The football team at my old highschool ordered one of these as a pregame meal as it's almost all protein. Or at least, that's the excuse they used. That's an 100x100, btw. For reference, an 8x8 might be more your type of thing.

The 4x4 is actually pretty common. I used to eat them when I was younger. They only go up to a double on the menu, but they're open to suggestion. If you can come up with it, they'll probably make it for you. For example, I like to get a neopolitan shake when I'm there.
