This rumor has been circulating (http://www.macrumors.com/2008/12/15/iphone-nano-rumors-revived-in-otherwise-quiet-lead-in-to-macworld/) for (http://www.macrumors.com/2008/12/22/more-hints-of-an-iphone-nano-from-case-manufacturers/) a (http://www.macrumors.com/2008/12/22/iphone-nano-concept-photo/) few (http://www.macrumors.com/2008/12/23/more-iphone-nano-case-design-photos/) weeks (http://www.macrumors.com/2008/12/29/vaja-also-hints-at-iphone-nano/) now. But the possibility of the iPhone getting a little brother is certainly interesting. I'm sure a smaller form factor is appealing to a number of potential customers who like the iPhone's features, but don't need a large display.

Could it be the first iPhone offered by other carriers, or is that too much to hope for?

iPhone Nano knockoffs are already on sale in Thailand (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/12/26/iphone_nano_knockoffs_already_on_sale_in_thailand_ photos.html).

My biggest use out of the iPhone is definitely the iPod features. Having only one device in my pocket as opposed to 2 is pretty nice.

Some days, I do use a lot of the features of the iPhone, so it would be nice to have both and just swap out the SIM cards when I need a less fully featured phone (like when cycling or something).

Another interesting Apple rumor: a monster iPod Touch (http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/12/30/large-form-ipod-touch-to-launch-in-fall-09/) (7 - 9") due for Fall 09:We’ve got this from three independent sources close to Apple: expect a large screen iPod touch device to be released in the Fall of ‘09, with a 7 or 9 inch screen. Prototypes have been seen and handled by one of our sources, and Apple is talking to OEMs in Asia now about mass production.

Apple has been experimenting internally with large form tablet devices for years, one source says, but there was concern that users wouldn’t like the device. The difference now is the iTunes app store, which has thousands of games and other applications that are perfect for a touch screen device with an accelerometer. Apple says more than 300 million applications have been downloaded since the App Store launched in July 2008. Combine the App Store, iTunes and a browser and you have one heck of a device.
