Is this card better then the 8800GTS? Also how much better is the 9800GTX then the GT? What is the best Nvidia card that is available today? I am thinking on upgrading my video card but don't want to spend more then 250 or 300 at most. I have a 8800 GTS 640MB that is 1 year old and I will probably sell it for 100 bucks or so after I upgrade.
Are you only interested in NVidia?

Get a Radeon 4870 1GB or a GTX 260 216 core.

The 9800GT is simply a rebranded 8800GT. It is better than a 640 8800GTS but only marginally so. A 9800GTX will give you a bigger step up, but it's still fairly marginal over what you currently have, depending on your resolutions. Like Disgustipated said, a Radeon 4870 1GB or GTX260 216core will give you a much more noticeable improvement and should fit nicely in your price range.

It is an 8800gt but renamed.
No extra advice needed or asked for.

I'm loving my 4870 1GB model...it's takes everything I've thrown at it and chewed it up at high resolutions :)
I upgraded from an 8800GT to the 4870 1GB to handle 1920x1200 and it has not disappointed even though I loved my 8800GT.
