Gears of War 2 is coming and it will own your soul!
King3567 over at Evil Avatar (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65501) got his issue of Gamepro early, and revealed a dump truck full of new information about Gears of War 2.
First up is Epic and Microsoft's ingenious method of dissuading used purchases of the game: all new copies of the game will come with a single-use code which will let you download five maps from the original Gears: Gridlock, Subway, Canals, Mansion, and Tyro Station.
Some changes to the enemies roster. Kryll and Berserkers are out, Butchers, Maulers, Grinders, Rockworms and Kantus are in.
Two new weapons - a minigun and a mortar launcher - which will drastically slow you down while you use them, but the destructive power they bring to bear compensates for that.
Items you find along the way will greatly flesh out the story, which sounds similar to the recorded messages in Bioshock.
The previously announced photo editor won't ship with the game, but Epic hopes to make it available as a title update soon after launch.
Gears of War 2 is scheduled for release on November 7th for the Xbox 360.
