Just found out that someone in the household is getting a Wii for Xmas and need to know what you all think are the top 3-5 games that are out for the Wii?
I'm going to run over to Gamestop later today and see what they have in stock and pick up 2-3 titles to give as gifts.
Thanks!
** oops, meant for this to land in the console section, maybe an admin can move it for me?

If you and 2-3 friends like very traditional RPGs and party games, get Dokapon Kingdom. It's like Dragon Quest mixed with Mario Party, with a hint of Culdcept.
I realize how ridiculous that sounds, but it works.

WiiWare suggestions are a must after they get the system. Lots of good stuff on WiiWare. I just wish I had the money to buy more of it...

I'm starting to think that No More Heroes is a tricky recommendation. I've played through two bosses so far and...I don't know...seems a bit "much". I just get the feeling it's trying to be too "extreme" for me.
Now...Zak & Wiki, that's a great little gem. My Life As a King (WiiWare) is also great.

Came in here to post this. I was up until 2:30 in the morning last night playing Dokapon Kingdom with my brother in law. The game is an absolute blast, and there's just a ton of content there for the price. :D

Animal Crossing City Folk
Please don't make me buy this game. I already convinced myself I don't want it!

Why? Yeah, I know it's like the first as if none of the sequels we play are not. If you enjoyed the first...although it sounds like you sink a lot of time into the game so that might be why. Buy it...so then you can visit ADD's town...

I don't have the time. I have been on an rpg buying spree lately (got Fallout for my bday today) and I promised myself I wouldn't get anything new for awhile. Other than that I would love to get it, including the talk channel.

For gamers, for kids, for the unwashed masses?
Gamers: Legend of Zelda, Mario Galaxy are must buys, sprinkle in a party game like Mario Kart or Smash Bros
Kids:They don't know any better so Cooking Mama, Mario Party, Rayman
Unwashed Masses:Wii Fit and a dust cloth.

Picked up Mario Galaxy and the roommate picked up Guitar Hero World Tour. Never played any of the music games (GH or RB) until now. Good stuff except that the song list that came with the game seems to be weak. I already know we'll be looking to pick up some better rock songs for the game as the 14 yr old that the Wii was bought for is a fan of rock music.
Almost grabbed Legend of Zelda, but held off for now. Maybe I'll go back to Gamestop and trade in some old 360 games for it later on.
Wanted to get Wii fitness as a gift from the 14 yr old to his dad, but they didn't have any in any of the stores. Might just order it online later on.
Thanks for all the suggestions, feel free to keep them coming as I'll be keeping this thread bookmarked to refer to once we get burned out on the titles we started out with.

I haven't seen anybody mention Super Paper Mario. I enjoyed that more than any other Wii game so far, and it's one of the few that held my interest enough for me to actually complete it.

Rock Band 2 for Wii. Blows GH World Tour out of the water. Comparable to the 360/PS3 versions.
