I'll have to give this ep a listen soon. I adore Chrono Trigger and am having a blast playing through it again on the DS, but enough of my memories of particulars of the plot are fuzzy that I don't want to pseudo-spoil it just yet.

Great call though.

This one is rife with spoilers so if there is anything you'd like to keep sacred for a bit, it's surely a better idea to play then before the listen.

I mean, CT is one of the few games that I've beaten close to double digit times, but that was all 11-12 years ago. Enough time has passed that I can't quite remember some of the bits or exactly what happened to who, when in the story...

I'll listen to it later though.

Aw man, I have to apologize for the sound quality of my setup. If I had realized it sounded that terrible I would have taken myself out of the conversation entirely. I feel like I detracted from the professional level of the entire cast.

I had such a good time taking part, and yet everytime I had anything to say, all anyone is going to hear is BUZZZ.

I'm sorry guys. I had some last minute changes when my family changed holiday plans on me the day we recorded, and I ended up recording on a laptop I had never used before, with only moments to set up the mic and configure everything before we got started. Honestly, if I had known how badly it sounded I really would have kept myself out of it - that tinny mic and that buzz is pretty jarring. I can't apologize enough.

Don't apologize man. It's the content that's important. While the connection may have been less than perfect and we should certainly strive for better, it's the actual subject matter that is of any importance. If ever we get to a point where faulty connection disallows ideas to be purveyed then we'll be sure to nix it completely. We appreciated your involvement and we'd be glad to have you again.

Yeah, my girlfriend is listening to it now and telling me I'm being silly, but I'm kindof an audiophile and it just honestly bugs me.

If I get a chance to be involved again, I can promise it will be a better audio setup on my end.

We'll be recording this Sunday and the thread for our next game should be up on Monday.

I didn't notice anything wrong with the audio.
Maybe I've been listening to my iPod for too long with really high volumes though...

Anyway I really enjoyed listening to this episode and I can't wait to see the new ending with my own eyes!
I'm eagerly awaiting the next show!

Thanks much. We're recording this Sunday for our Eternal Darkness show. Should be good. We'll post a week after. Thanks for the support.

Another enjoyable show guys. I'll be picking up a copy of Chrono Trigger on DS (third time buying it like many of you) because of this episode. Also I will continue to pronounce Chrono with the long "o" because otherwise it rapes my childhood.

I'll have to skip the next one because I have yet to start Dead Space, but I look forward to the eventual listen.

Next one is gonna be Eternal Darkness actually. Holidays called for slight schedule adjustments. It does kinda make sense it would be Crono with a long 'o' although Marle being pronounced Marley was beyond me.

I always pronounced Marle as "Marley" too. Did you call her Marl? lol...

A lot of us did actually. Just goes to show that there are no safe bets when it comes to name pronunciation.

Marley? Really? Sigh. I mourn the death of phonics...

At least Chrono can be pronounced either with a hard or soft O (I go with the soft O pronunciation, myself)... But Marley? *sigh*

Picked up the DS copy from my brother. I don't remember if you guys touched on it on the podcast but for those of you that played the DS version did you use the DS battle mode or the classic battle mode? I tried the DS mode at first but I hated having to look down at the bottom screen to enter battle commands so I recently switched it to classic mode.

I'm using the DS battle system (but I don't use the stylus). I've gotten used to the commands being on the bottom and I like how the top screen is so clean and free of clutter.

The touch functionality in this and most of the SE remakes is so useless though.

I believe Gash used DS mode but in all fairness, this was his first time playing the game. Also, I played on the SNES so I never had the chance. I assume it's functional but the purist will probably go with classic mode.

EDIT: Though Spigot brings up a good point about the benefits of a clutter free screen.

Eh, I didn't think it was really worth talking about, myself. I used it with no problems, and I did enjoy the clutter-free game area. That was something that occasionally became an issue in the original SNES version. I'm glad they have both options available, though. I also don't use the stylus with it, choosing to scroll about with the d-pad instead.

Yeah. I haven't even bothered taking my stylus out of the DS when I play. D-pad all the way. I'm just saying that it's almost not worth SE bothering to code in that touch functionality given how useless it is.

It's nice to see that someone else likes the clutter-free version.
