User Coggies: Most Anticipated Sequel of 2009

Explanation: A lot of people have expressed anger about the limited choices for the Coggies, so I'm starting unofficial threads that will allow more choices.

When will Diablo III be released?
It's too early to estimate Diablo III's release date. As with all Blizzard Entertainment games, our goal is to create a game that is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible. Chris_D - They had a playable demo that looked very good last summer. You really think they'll spend more than 15 months adding content and polishing? They do take their time, but the game was in development for 4 years when they showed it off this summer (is 4 years right? that's what I remember. . . ) Anyway, I think we can anticipate a Fall/Winter 2009 release. . . as much as we can any of these games.

From what I've seen so far, Diablo 3 will hit before StarCraft II.
Either way, I'll be happy. I just watched the new Battle Report for StarCraft II, and it makes me so entirely horny.

They've alrady stated that Starcraft wont be coming out until after Diablo so if you believe Starcraft will be out in 2009 then you by default believe Diablo will be as well.

I could easily see Diablo coming out Christmas 09 and Starcraft coming out Spring of '10.

In all reality it will probably be at the same time, Blizzard could easily dominate Christmas 09 by releasing D3 and SC2 in the same quarter there by rendering all other releases pointless.

Blizzard hasn't said a fucking word about release dates. When did they say D3 will be out before SC2? SC2 is still in alpha, D3 is even less mature.

It's hard to be hyped for 2009 games, as most companies are learning to keep their mouth shut until they think the game will be out.

Remember that video from the 2006 GDC that showed a completely playable game? It just looked like it needed a bit of filler to finish up. Granted, in the two years between that and release, they completely gutted many of the features, so that may have had something to do with the delay.

However, I still think (hope) that it'll be released in '09. Just saying that you can't judge when a game will release by a gameplay video.

Yeah, I'd just like to echo what other people have been saying about Blizzard titles. I had also heard somewhere that Diablo 3 was likely coming before StarCraft 2. Also, I would not be surprised in the least if NEITHER of these titles actually makes it next year.

I'm a fanboy of those, but also of a LOT more titles (Portal/Half-Life, Mass Effect, NOLF (not that a sequel is coming), Heavy Rain, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow Hearts, Star Ocean. . . I could go on and on).

I'll rent God of War 3 and play it at a friend's house if the PS3 hasn't gotten a price drop by then. I'll buy it when it's down to $20 for my game library, but I'll rent and beat it the first couple days after it comes out.

At this point I'm definitely getting a PS3. There are finally some good exclusives and it will get more of them, but I've waited so long for a price drop that it seems like it would be dumb not to wait a bit longer for it to happen.

Diablo before Starcraft was just a rumor that came half true. Starcraft: Terrans will come first, then Diablo 3, then Starcraft expansion and after that it's anyones guess.
